What’s something you were convinced you didn’t like until somebody finally made it the right way?

sushi...
not only I didn't have it that much before but also, we really didn't have better places for it... I've tried some more of it in recent years, at better places too and then I find it "okay" lmao
I suspect that, some of it can be really good and way better... if I get it from the right place or person, lol
raw vegetables?
I don't get people's fascination with raw food... not in the USA, I mean
you mean stinky fish... that's Nordic stuff, lol
Chinese food. My sister made it while babysitting us when we were kids. It was f***ing terrible.🤣 i didn't eat chinese food for a couple decades it traumatized me so bad.
Then one day i was taken for chinese food against my will. But this time it was made by someone who could make it. It wasn't that ghetto-assed La Choy crap my sister tried to shove on me. And this is when i discovered chinese food is really good. Salty, but good.
Sushi. The first time I had it I didn't like but turned out it was just very bad one.
Steak. A bad steak is the worst. But having it at a steakhouse changed my whole view.
For me, it was eggplant.
Growing up, I only had it as soggy, bitter slices, and I was sure I hated it. Then in Sicily, someone served me silky melanzane alla parmigiana, layers of perfectly salted, fried eggplant with bright tomato sauce and mozzarella 🧀🍆
Another time in Japan, smoky, charred nasu dengaku with miso glaze totally changed my mind.

Sushi. I tried it at the Asian buffet a few times and it was always dry and disgusting so I was hesitant to go to a special restaurant just for sushi when I hated it so much. But when I tried it at a proper sushi place, it was awesome and it's one of my favourite foods now.
Well you can do a lot wrong with it xD like even a bad pizza is still nice to eat. Same with burgers and most other food for take out. But the difference between bad sushi and good sushi is like a whole other universe.
Erm, I usually don't give it another try if the first experience was terrible 😳
Lol maybe someday 😅
Belly pork. I remember getting it once as a child and it was tough meat and 90% slimey chewy fat.
Eggplant 🍆 casserole
I haven't found one
African rice
