Awesome, keep up the good work, marine science is a very competitive industry, very important ecosystems, it's another world down there, I stick to terrestrial woodland communities, in particular Australian east coast species.

I make friends in real life only. I'm just online for questions and answers so I never have to deal with this issue because whether the other person is young, old, male, female, or remotely looks like the profile pic is irrelevant to me.

This was a great story to hear. I was usually the odd kid out but I didn't have to go this far to get out of it, but I respect that you did what you had to do.
The funny thing is that you actually believe your deception was harmless.

@Aakash_Hangargi You CAN'T know that. Just because she intended all her exchanges to be platonic doesn't mean some guys didn't take interest all the same. And just bevause she called it quits doesn't mean their weren't some people that wanted a closer personal friendship. You shouldn't deceive people And we have no way of knowing how many people she hurt.
Maybe it's what we choose to beleive, but I don't think somebody who goth rough this pain of writing what and how they felt may be you are right maybe you are not but it's the writers story I choose to trust though writer agrees that it's wrong but it's in the past

I mean. it would only be to have a few conversations so by your and her logic. It's harmless. I wouldn't keep the ruse going. But i would be willing to bet the woman involved wouldn't feel that way.
I get contacted by catfish daily. I've gotyen very good at spotting them. Because most catfish are lazy. But it doesn't make them any lesd anmoying.
I understand that but the difference was she was young and she used it as defense mechanism not on purpose, and also sometimes we get carried away it's possible to happen but she corrected it and at that age what she could have known and mostly would have been afraid knowing that she was already liying so different scenarios

I never made Jessica with intent to harm anyone. It was impulsive. I was backed into a corner and it was between breaking down and crying in front of everyone or defending myself. I wasn’t a fighter but also not the type to ball up and take a beating. Saying I had a best friend was the first thing i said in that split second. And when it worked it felt like my only protection.
The girl in my story wasn’t the only girl that picked on me at school. She had friends but she was the ring leader. I didn’t go deep into it but they would gang up on me at times.
Jessica was like this magical wand that made everything better. So I held onto it. There were boys who did try to get with her but I always turned them down. I never led anyone on.
I didn’t share my story for empathy and I never said it was ok. It’s just my perspective and “why” I became a catfish.
It doesn't matter what your intent was. It's not ok to play with other peoples emotions.
