Why do girls shave off their eyebrows and draw new, ugly ones with a marker?

i originally thought it was to make their eyes appear bigger if they made a higher brow. and sothey could be more dramatic with the eye shadow. but really
before anyone does something so awful to their looks get an opinion. our eye brows are our character and part of our personality expressions. look at some picturesof girls with the painted on ones then look at them with none at all do you really want to look like either because your gonna look like one half the time. jmo

some girls are so obsessed with being perfect they have to get rid of everything unique or different about them and plaster on new everything like eyebrows or makeup or whatever. it is confusing to me as well, but from any person i talk to about this, they usually say its because they don't feel perfect

I don't think some know how to use make up properly. You can use brow definers to enhance them but not completely re do them. It just ends up looking really fake, like you've done paint by numbers in the morning.
Anything natural always looks better to me :)

They are constantly brainwashed by beauty industry into believing they need this and that to look pretty and to think they're worthless if they don't look the like barbies.

My girlfriend has reddish tones on her face which I find endearing. She, however, buys tons of products to hide it and then uses an expensive blush to look red again, just in an uglier, artificial way. Go figure.

I find it weird because I've never seen ANYONE who would have said they find that attractive. ANYONE. You'd think there would be at least someone on the internet who says "oh yeah that's sexy" but in this case, everyone is just puzzled. I never filled my eyebrows in until my stylist messed up my eyebrows! They were uneven so I had to fill the one in until it grew back to normal. Now I just do it for special occasions and it's never crazy looking. I've never shaved my brows off lol. There are some girls who do and look RATCHET though!

Yes. There are some girls who wax or tweeze all their brow hairs off and have to draw them back on. I only had to because someone I trusted did the things mentioned above. It makes no sense to me why anyone would willingly pluck all their brows out.

I agree! I’d much rather see actual eyebrows or ones painted on that look real. Many are ridiculous looking, like they bought a paintbrush at a hardware store and painted with wide strokes… totally fake-looking and clownlike.

I agree...the only reason I pluck them is because they're like rectangles above my eyes...my eyebrow hair is really light and the hair in top of my head is really dark...so it doesn't look right which is why I fill them in :3

They should yes, but I'll assume they've had no instruction on how to do it properly or they have a warped idea of what is attractive. My comment meant, if they already have eyebrows there's no need to shave them off, unless they have thin, or weirdly shaped then cosmetically it can help, but only if it's done right.
