My co worker keeps on smiling and saying hi to me?

I've been working with her for over a year now and she's a real kind person and likes to smile a lot.
But just today she kept randomly waving her hand and saying hi to me while smiling. Of course I would do the same back but couldn't help but wonder why she would. I mean it's not like I don't see her for hours on end. I do my job and see her every few minutes lol. She also looks back at me and gave me quick little smiles. And must I include she says goodbye to me EVERYDAY.

So I guess what my question is, is she just being friendly/kind? Or do you think she has recently gain interest in me and wants to see my reaction while giving signs.
Girls if you were to do this to a guy you work with what would it mean?

I actually have a similar situation. I wave and smile like an idiot but it is because I like the guy I work with. We don't work together just in the same building. I get nervous and hope he says something to me but he doesn't so I just gotta keep it moving lol

Yes she is showing interest do you talk to her do you notice her getting nervous or shy around you

I do talk to her a lot but she doesn't seem nervous. Sometimes she puts her head down walking past me. She also gets real close at times and for some reason get a feeling she wants to be touchy but retaliates.

The east I could do is go with it. I'll try to be more closer in way so she gets that I'm comfortable around her. I texted her once before saying happy birthday and she acted cool about it. After that she never texted me :\ kinda figured she doesn't want to text.

I dont want to sound desperate and honestly im not. I just want to figure out what she's thinking. If she actually is starting to gain interest in my personality. If you were to wave and mile saying hi, what would be the reason? would it be a kind act or showing sings you're interested.

Well its kinda hard to say if you have no other type of interaction with her but she could just be trying to talk to you more.

Believe me that she has hours of opportunity to talk to me. She’s just the quiet type that spontaneously acts on how she feels or thinks. So I guess saying hi is a way of releasing some tension or to spark things up at work.

Lol I get where she is coming from I'm the quiet and shy type so I have a hard time just having a conversation especially someone I like. You might just have to give her a little push

There's probably one thing I should mention. She has a boyfriend :\ that's what makes me think she's just being nice. Could she still be interested?

Absolutely you can be dating someone and be interested in someone else but there is nothing wrong with being friends with her

I would like to be friends with her :( but the things is it isn't as simple as being friends. I doubt the boyfriend will like me being around her. And they're more like living together.

Well in a relationship there has to be trust and if he doesn't trust her then that's there problem. You know she has a boyfriend so you as a guy friend needs to respect that and have boundaries. You know what I am trying to say

Yes i do, and I have very bad experience with that. That's why I'm more than likely going to back off. Going back to what my original question was, I was only wondering why she would act that way.

Oh okay lol. She could be showing interest or just trying to be friends it's hard to tell do you notice anything else other then the hi and waving if no then she is just being friendly

She smiles at me but she could be trying to seem cute (it works dammit). I think I already said this but sometimes she just tends to get close to me or find some simple way of touching me. That doesn't happen too often though. The goodbyes, compliments on my clothing and style I don't know just little things.

Do you think texting her every once in a whole is a way to show I at least want to be friends? She doesn't text me back ever so i have a feeling she isn't interested. At work it's kinda difficult because I have to keep things appropriate. I always play and mess with her so I guess that's one way? I don't know what do you suggest. I do talk to her for extended periods of times because I got no one else to converse with. Yes I am attracted, I have a crush on her. But why do you say she seems annoying?

Well from a different perspective, lets say, if you didn't have a crush on her or find her attractive, her saying hi constantly could become annoying. But since you like her it's different.

And well then know something will spark, she definitely likes you.

I don't know man I hate it when these kind of characters appear on girls cuz you don't know if she's being nice and friendly or actually trying to give off signs. So confusing. She's a few years older than me, I'm not sure if she'd be into me.

Yeah. Certain signals are tricky. At this point it's hard to tell but I really think she's into you. You could wait a little longer for more clues. And you being younger shouldn't affect anything.

I did this recently and yes it's awkward, but I'd take an awkward situation over a missed opportunity. I don't regret asking her out, because I would always be left wondering "what if".
