What makes stoic and rebellious more attractive than happy and family-oriented?

Anonymous
Sorry for using the title as a hook. The real question would be "DO YOU find stoic and rebellious more attractive than happy and family-oriented?"

I had read a study about relations between images and attractiveness, where images were rated by attractiveness by the attracted gender, and correlations were made based on traits like "smiling" "proud" "angry" "stoic" "tattoos" etc.

For guys' responses to images of girls, it mostly made sense. Smiling was one of the most attractive traits, smart-looking, healthy-looking, etc.

For girls' responses to images of guys, it went a different direction. The single least attractive thing a guy could do was smile. The most attractive was stoic or self-prideful and tattoos.

So I'm trying to figure out what would make this:

would be so much more attractive than this:

And frankly, I'm concerned about what it means for men.

I also have a Poll for which couple of images you prefer.
