Do girls actually like soppy guys?

So straight to the point: I am very soppy and in the past this had lead me to being friendzoned, but this one girl at the moment really, really likes me for it and I'm so glad. Finally, being a gentleman has got me somewhere! :D

So I was wondering if girls did actually like sensitive and soppy guys or whether the harder, macho, 'I don't cry' type are more appealing?

Everybody has their own personal preference. I personally am more attracted to the romantic socially-akward guys as opposed to the macho hard ones :3.
However, if a guy is overly sensitive - it can be a little discouraging. Think about it - males have always been the physically stronger beings and even in the olden days were dominant over females. So I guess it is sort of a natural instinct for women (well.. for me and most people I know, at least) to get a feeling of security because they have their own "stronger" protector, instead of somebody weak, (just like other animals), if that makes sense?

I like sensitive guys but he can't allow me to walk all over him. If I'm being a bitch he must put me in my place. Only be a gentleman if she deserves it or else she won't appreciate it. I broke up with my ex because he was a pushover.

Some girl genuinly seem to. Some genuinely hate them. And some will walk all over them and wrap them around their little fingers...

.. It's a basic personailty type, there will be a wide array of different oppinions. There are plenty of people who like it, hence the popularity of certain rom-com actors (Hugh Grant particularly).
