Why is she ALWAYS copying me?

My brother in law's girlfriend is such a copy cat! My husband and I have noticed she copies everything about me. She even dresses similar to how I dress. When I cook something she goes and cooks it 2 or 3 days later. I can't stand it!! If I go shopping, she goes shopping. I cut my bangs a few years ago and so did she. I let them grow out and she's doing the same. I dress a certain way and so does she. For example I love wearing heels and I wear them whenever the occasion arrives. She never wore heels and now she wears them everywhere, even if I don't (sometimes she is the only one wearing heels and she looks dumb lol). I cook at my mom's to avoid her copying, but I take some home so my husband can eat. She even copies the way I talk and the phrases I say. I always talk to my husband in English and she never talked to my brother in law in English until she heard me talking to my husband. She also copied the phrases I say and every time I start using a new phrase she does too! I'm so tired of her I barely speak to her and avoid seeing her, I even keep my shopping bags in the car so she won"t go running shopping that same day or the next day. Oh yeah and the latest I've always carried a purse and she never carried one, now she does. I bought a huge pinata for my stepdaughter's bday and she bought a huge one for her daughter's bday when she had only bought a small one the previous year. I used to talk to her and everything, but I can't saw we were friends because I never considered her a friend. Now I don't speak to her unless it's necessary because she is a hypocrite, she talks crap about people and next thing you know she's hanging out with them.

I just want to know if anybody has gone through the same thing? What do I do? Why is she copying me in EVERYTHING? Doesn't she know that's annoying and not ORIGINAL?

Alright, let's breathe and understand what's going on now. Firstly, don't let your brother-in-law's girlfriend affect you in a negative way. You have the power to overcome this.
Yes, it's dumb and I understand that overtime it may get on your nerves. I know this because I had a sister like that and she always changed her outfit, hair, style, mannerisms, makeup to whatever I was into just to copy me. Deep down, I felt like it was to show how she wanted to "prove" that she was/looked better than me. I would hide from her while getting ready to go out so that she couldn't steal any outfit ideas before we would leave.
Silly, right?
Yet it's true, I admit, I would get frustrated. Why can't she just be original, set her own style?
But then I realized this. We know that we cannot change someone to be different. To be a certain way. You are special in your own way. You have style, you are a trendsetter, you're beautiful. She obviously sees that and just wants to feel as gorgeous as you.
You can choose to be authentically you or hide yourself in fear.
Realizing this helped me so much. Don't change for no one. Rock it your way and own it.
See the differences in both of you and love what you have. Two can't create the same look and feel. Your attitude and confidence in knowing this makes all the difference. The world will see it and recognize it, too. Hope this helped :)

I think she's copying you because she wants what you have. Not in a literal sense but in her own life. She probably wants to fit in with your family and wants to have a relationship like you and your husbands with your brother in law. I really think she very much looks up to you and you should take it as a compliment. Your brother in law might even tell her what a great wife his brother has not realizing the impact. Try giving her a chance you never know. Ifor she's still really annoying hopefully your brother in law will dump her. Lol

Maybe she likes what you do.
Or maybe she likes the way you cook.
"Oh. That looks good so I'll try to cook it"
Honestly I don't know. I'd talk to her about it.

if I were you I will talk to my husband and we will do something really embarrassing in front of her that my brother-in-law really dislikes.
I will make sure no one else gets to know about it but his gf.

She will be really embarrassed when she tries to do it with the brother in law

Live your life and ignore the rest. She will catch on that drama will not rule. Her being jealous will only hurt her in the future. showing any reaction will fuel her.
