Ladies... Tall Dark and Handsome?

When girls say tall dark and handsome I think the biggest problem is guys don't know what dark means, so enlighten me please!!
Is it skin tone
Eye color
Hair color
Or overall mysterious vibe which can be described as dark
Tell me Ladies

In my opinion - dark hair and often dark eyes, mysterious/a certain kind of vaguely aristocratic look/way about them...
I think it comes from the idea of looking mysterious/foreign - in the last couple centuries of British fiction, and especially gothic fiction, there was a preoccupation with "mysterious, dark, and wealthy" men - attractive in their semi-societally-unacceptable status either because they earned their money some way other than the accepted class structure, and had seen faraway lands, or were of Spanish and therefore possibly "Moorish" descent - it's the tinge of foreignness. Basically it meant "vaguely exotic and possibly rich or otherwise fascinating."
I personally just prefer tall dark (hair/eyes - skin color from light tan to a sort of light brown) handsome guys. The mystery factor is also good.

Yeah and I still think in terms of dark hair/eyes/a bit swarthy but that's partly bc that's what I find most attractive. They should really rephrase it to be "tall, mysterious, and handsome"

I don't know, I think the tall dark handsome stuff is just stupid, there are plenty of blue-eyed/light guys who are hot/handsome. Frankly, it doesn't really matter anyway, as long as the guy has that sexy glint of confidence in his eye coupled with that half smirk/smile-- he is attractive so long as he is not completely ugly

@msg812, I don't think it would bother me but at 5'2" I don't usually meet guys that are shorter lol. I do wear high heels a lot though!

Yes it an old scottish tradition if im honest... your first footer (meaning first to cross your door) at new year was to be tall dark and handsome!!! Don't believe me. Google it but im scottish and this is the tradition we are brought up with!!!
