Do girls always expect the guy to text first?

These things are so confusing and I asked a similar question myself earlier but with someone who I've recently become exclusive with. In fact, I took people's advice and called him.

It depends if you're arranging a first date, if it's after a first date or dating. For me, I'm fairly traditional in my attitude, I would like to think the guy should initiate everything until you become exclusive (a lesson I've learnt today). You should put yourself out there, let her know you're interested and take it from there.

Well, I text my boyfriend first sometimes, but I usually do expect him to text me first. I am a really insecure person so I feel like if he texts me first then it's because he actually WANTS to talk to me and doesn't feel forced to just because I texted him first. Like I said, I'm an insecure mess so that's my reasons for it.

Maybe. Girls do assume that guys should text first that's just how it works. If I never texted the guy before then I would probably never text him unless he did it first because I would take it as he's not intersted. If I've texted him before then I wouldn't bother if he texts me first or not when starting a conversation.

The guy I'm interested in never texts first, but always texts back if I text him first and will keep the conversation going for a long time. I hate texting first but in my opinion it is childish to not text someone out of spite because they didn't text you first..

Ya. They expect you to initiate all forms of interaction because, as females, they're either incapable or unwilling to initiate anything themselves due to various bs reasons.

Now this isn't to say that all women do this all the time. But if you need a general rule to apply to any given situation, it would be that.

I'm the type of girl that if you cross my mind, I'm gonna text you. The only time I'll wait for a guy to text first is if I was the last to say something. Or if I feel like I'm always texting first.
