It depends on who you are. If you put the girl on a pedestal and accept what she said is fact, you have a very fragile ego. If you learn to control outside criticism, then the worst a girl can do to you is yell at you about how you are an a**hole.

If you don't believe me, lets crush some examples. Penis size? If you are confident with what you have, your other skills, your past experience, the most promiscuous girls cannot shame you. Cheating on you? She wasn't meant to become your wife anyway. Let's hope you are not married if she does and can drop her easy. Find a better girl.

This rings true for girls too. If you are comfortable in your body words like "fat", "lard monster", "porker", "fugly" should have no effect on you. Having standards and values one lives by his how a healthy ego and pride are developed. Those are unassailable. If that is the source of one's strength, another person cannot weaken it unless you allow it.

Given most people sadly accept low or undefined standards for themselves and dislike being reminded that they are responsible for themselves, thought feelings and behavior, I'm not surprised my opinion isn't well received.

Asker, anyone's ego can be crushed, male or female, if they allow it to happen. A strong healthy person of either sex doesn't allow it, nor do they try to inflict it.

Ego is a human trait. It takes on some gender nuance in it's expression, particularly when it's an unhealthy type of ego, but it isn't all that different between the sexes, in my opinion.
