Why are girls obsessed with pulling duck faces in pictures?

I think I heard people actually review as to why people (girls) do it, and I kind of agree. First of all, it's easy. It's something that looks kind of kiddy at first, it was a show of attitude as well, but very light and playful. Second, it's (maybe surprisingly to you) not as embarrassing. It's kind of an excuse saying "Yeah, I can do this! You can't even tell what this is! Is it a pouty face, kissy face, or just a funny face! Ha!" and etc. Third: About this one I'm not sure, but I think it's supposed to show off or give a sample to how kissing would be like with them. Kind of just a tease. Lastly, something I personally think of, is that it's "Smile V2.0." You know when you try to hide a smile and it kind of just inflates your lips? Yeah, that's my theory on how it really started. It's partially natural but people never intentionally did it until now. Also, again, it was easy, it hid embarrassment, and etc.

I usually smile when I take selfires or get my pictures taken. But sometimes I make weird childish face.. and sometimes duck faces, just for laugh. It looks different than other selfies, so why not? XD
