Girls, What do you mean when you call a guy cute/adorable?

Honestly

no guy likes it. It makes them not feel masculine especially me. Im 20 and have a boyish look. 2nd picture was for my previous girlfriend.

But im jack opposite of feminine. I feel like women just pass me up because they think im jailbait. The only thing i got for me is a lean muscular body from a year of working out. Other then that i look feminine. it blows.

Being called cute adorable bad?

Here's the gap in male/female terminology and communication.

For men: adorable<cute<sweet<handsome<hot<sexy

For women: adorable=cute=sweet=handsome=hot=sexy

All the terms are terms with a positive connotation. Therefore all terms mean good things.

The only thing that changes for a girl, when picking which description to use, is the environment. If he's getting dressed up in a suit and tux it's best not to call him cute. Handsome is a better one. If he's naked the environment dictates that anything other than hot/sexy would be a poor choice. But if it's just him then it doesn't really matter. All good terms.

A guy places with each term a level of attractiveness and applies it to women. If sexy=10 then hot=9... etc.

But women aren't like that.

And men apply the scale they made up for judging women to themselves when women use those terms and in fact the scale is completely different.

It's a compliment. Cute and adorable doesn't mean not masculine... It simply means they aren't ready to say hot, sexy, and attractive sounds too formal. I call my boyfriend adorkable, and I won't lie he's not a hard core masculine figure, he's in touch with his emotions. But he doesn't feel like it's anything less than a compliment!

It is definitely a compliment. When I consider a guy cute or adorable, I don't really even pay attention their body. It is only a small fraction over the entire thing. I usually look at their face, their personality, smile. I have called guys hot, but I wouldn't ever want to be with someone who is hot. That usually means they are really good looking, but that's about it. There's a guy who I'm crushing on now and I have never considered a guy adorable until now. It's the way he smiles, talks, fidgets, it's little things really. Little things, but mean a lot.

Dude you don't look feminine. I know feminine looking guys, and my best friend is one. He's prettier than his pretty girlfriend it's creepy. You're good trust me. (And if you weren't, keep in mind that my girly looking bff has a pretty girlfriend.)

Most women just want to be sweet to you, they don't think about how it reflects on your sense of masculinity. Women don't get that stuff.

I honestly sometimes call guys cute too, but since I know what it means to you, I only do it when I'm teasing and trying to provoke. I use other epithets to pay compliments.

Well maybe you'll be happy to that when I call a guy cute/adorable it doesn't mean that I'm accusing him of being feminine or attaching any feminine connotations to it either.
It's simply means he is cute or adorable whether it be their looks or antics but that could just be me.

When I say it I just mean I think the dude's attractive, terms like hot and sexy make me somewhat uncomfortable when I actually know the person, so I just opt for "cute".

I agree with one of the comments down below. When we say cute, we're not ready to say "hot" or "sexy" because sometimes it may imply something a little more than "I would date you" you know? It definitely does not mean that you're puppy cute or baby cute {unless the girl pats your head or pinches your cheeks while implying this}. When I say "that guy is cute", I mean good looking, handsome--not "I just want to put him in my purse and take him home!"
