I'm asking because this girl at work lights up everytime I show up, she follows me around and offers to hug me. If not that then she is constantly poking me in the back, stomach, or putting her hand on my back when I'm turned around. She doesn't act like this around anybody else and she always smiles and looks at the ground every time we make eye contact. And yes, I have caught her staring at me across the store and then smiling at me. But the other day she was standing in my one workspace like she knew she was in my way then instead of moving she just smiled and giggled at me. Then put her arm around me and said "you're my new best friend right?". Obviously I hardly know her and have only been working with her for a week or two. But is this getting friendzoned?
No I wouldn't say you were being friendzoned, if I acted like that it was because I liked you. I'm sometimes awkward so flirting isn't my speciality... I want whoever I like/date to be my best friend. Although, I'm intentional about relationships so I could be wrong.

She is probably into you and calling you her "new best friend" is most likely a way she'd flirting with you. If a girl says that to you when you guys don't know each other that well then its not friend zoning. Especially since she doesn't do that to other men.
Just be straight forward with her. You got nothing to lose but maybe more to gain
My parents say they're each other's best friend so...
