Why this girl never initiates text?

I am always the one texting first. when I text her she responds instantly. even when she texts ( rarely happens) me there is always an excuse to text me. for example in her birthday i sent her a funny picture i made. she replied instantly and she put it as profile picture. 12 hours after she sent me a message saying " hey james look i put it as profile picture. i mean why can't you talk to me without making excuses.

In the same situation, she never initiated conversations without excuses. So what did i do? To make sure she is interested, i didn't text her for one week and she would text me first. Kept doing that for one month, then she realized i was still interested so she didn't text me as usual, instead she would do something to get my attention like commenting in my photos when they are quotes only. I don't texting her first anymore knowing she is interested, plus she keeps the conversation going heck she says more than i do.

Maybe she just doesn't want to seem clingy? I'm like that too. I rarely text first because for some reason I assume that people don't want to talk to me unless they reach out first. Weird, I know. Maybe you could just tell her that it seems like you're always the one initiating and that you'd appreciate it if she texted first sometimes? I know it worked when my friends pointed it out to me. I made an effort to text them first too so maybe you could try that?

It depends on how you say it. If you just suggest it then I might take it into consideration but if you make it sound like an accusation I'm more likely to actually do something about it. Haha kind of

She seems shy or is scared that you'll think she's clingy. The best thing you can do is to simply encourage her to text more, by saying stuff like "hey, I really like it when you text me, so feel free to text me more often if you want and don't be afraid of starting the conversations :)"

Maybe she's afraid of bothering you or something. Or maybe she likes you but wants to hide it, so she avoids writing to you first in case you may interpret it as such. When it comes to finding excuses to talk to you, I think this is actually a good sign. She wants to talk to you.

Maybe she thinks she'll bore you, or you're often so busy, maybe she doesn't know what to say to you... or u seem so uninterested.. because she doesn't initiate first does not mean she's not interested, it means she doesn't know ur interested in speaking to her with out an excuse

It sounds like she's into you though so why do you sound so bitter haha. I wish I was in her position. I'm the one texting guys first so yeah you can prolly already tell most guys only see me as friends.
Most girls don't initiate first cause they don't wanna seem desperate or needy. In my opinion they only seem desperate and needy if they text over and over again. And most likely she only texts first when she has a reason to because she doesn't know what else to text.
