I think people have an unrealistically inflated idea of masculinity. Not every girl is extremely girly & society has mostly accepted that, but it's impossible for people to accept anything other than pure testosterone in guys.

Of course I'm not saying that about you specifically! I think it would be pretty normal to cry when someone you love (or anyone) hits you with something like that & as far as defending yourself that's a load of bs. You couldn't have know that she would do something that outrageous & if you had defended yourself they would be calling you aggressive instead. Just ignore them!

As for the girlfriend I can only hope you aren't still with her.
