When I went online, she goes offline. Do girls do this intentionally?

I'm not talking about fb where you could spend browsing and go immediately offline when you saw that someone is online. I'm talking about whatsapp or telegram, where you usually need to open a chat with the person to check if someone is online or offline in any random moment. And I realised this happens way too often to become a coincidence with a girl. Just once, I stayed online just a little longer to see if she went back online again. And soon after her status just went on and off as if she's opening and closing the app multiple times. When I checked her time stamp, she's offline just when I went online.

Do girls actually do this?
If so, what's the deal here?
Is she trying to say she's avoiding me?
Because when I talked to her, she doesn't seem interested and brush me off yet this happens.

well, I have done this once or twice but I have also done this because I was actually getting rapid messages from my friends. So I would respond quickly and go off and then come back on again , answer and then go off.
So you can't really say for sure if it's because she likes your, or it's because she is actually talking to her friends

I think she's the kind where she would stay online long enough when there's a quick exchange of messages. Can say that the status flickers on and off too fast to actually be a reply to someone. And what do you mean you've done this once or twice? What are you trying to say?
