Are girls more attracted to action and chemistry than they are attracted to superficial aesthetics?

When people say "men are more attracted to women than women are attracted to men": What they're talking about is superficial attraction.

Women have a sexuality that's way deeper and more complex than male attraction. I've found this out recently that I want to know if you ladies feel the same about:

Male aesthetics do nothing for me as a stand alone.

Are girls more attracted to action and chemistry than they are attracted to superficial aesthetics?

^^ That doesn't make me feel anything. Nothing. Zilch. You know why? I'm attracted to action, I like boys to *do* things. Preferably rough, naughty things to me. Not just stand there and look pretty which is what girls do.

Guys would look at a pic like this ^^ or an equivalent sexy pic of a stranger and they would feel *something*. They can just look at a girl and be sexually aroused.

I need him to *do* something and be someone that I like to be aroused (including hot celebs that I've developed crushes on). I have gotten turned on by imagining my crush doing construction, like hammering a nail into some wood in a short sleeves shirt (biceps rippling hnng). I have NOT gotten turned on by a random muscular guy on the internet with his shirt off like this:

Yes, they clearly are. Another big myth has been exposed at Dr Cindy Meston's sexual psychophysiology lab at the University of Texas at Austin. Merton conducted studies, using a vaginal photoplethysmograph to measure how physically aroused her female subjects were, and the results of her studies went against perceived wisdom- effectively confirming exactly this, that women are aroused, not by looks or attractiveness, but by action and/or fear.
"For years we were told, 'Have a bubble bath, calm down, listen to relaxing music, do deep breathing exercises, chill out before sex,'" she says. "But my research shows the opposite, that you actually want to get women in an active state. So, you can run around the block with your partner and get them to chase you around the block, or watch a scary movie together, ride a rollercoaster together, even a good comedy act. If you really get laughing, you're going to have a sympathetic activation response."

Meston is talking about the sympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for subconscious muscle contractions that get us ready for the flight or fight mode, like heart rate and blood pressure. She has found that if this system is activated before sex, it will help women respond more intensely and more quickly. It's quite the opposite for men. For years, it was assumed women worked in the same way as men, but Meston's work has shown this to be a mistake.

I disagree. We guys don't get turned on by seeing a girl just laying there... sure, we may get turned on by a picture of a girl just laying there, but in our minds we're imagining her doing something, or us doing something to her.
I see the girl you posted and it doesn't do anything to me, it doesn't catch my attention cause she's just laying there. But if I were to stop, look at her, then my mind would start imagining things and it may turn me on.

So either I have a pink brain, or we're the same.

i wouldn't call it deeper we are just another type of shallow. we reject men for not being smooth and overconfident, but these traits dont necessarily make him a better human. ine could be meek, low profile and uncofident and be a golden heart. appearence that men hold so precious is not an indication of character but neither is our attraction archetype... .

Oh for sure. I'm so not visually stimulated lol. Sure the pics are nice to look at, but that's about it. I'd say I'm more vocally stimulated than anything. I LOVE accents, the way people speak, pronunciation and tone, all of it. The right voice saying the right thing will turn me on faster than anything else, even touching.

Maybe this is the masculine part of my brain talking, but all three of those pictures do something for me. As @Saoirse_Nua said it is more of a "I would tap that" superficial attraction.
It takes chemistry and emotional attachment for me to actually want to be in a relationship with someone.

I think it depends on the girl. Some say they really care about body. But I think a lot feel the way you do. It's his character and doing things that turn them on. For me, plenty of girls can be attractive. I go to a big university with a lot of pretty girls but I don't fantasize about them at all. A girl needs to have a great personality for them to stand out for me. I still need physical attraction but if they don't have a personality to boot it won't matter.

Do you at the least appreciate a guy who takes care of his body or is a fit guy and a guy with a dad bod just have no different effect on you at all?

From my personal experience, i am attracted to beauty and for brains. i guess sometimes, after i talk to a girl and i feel there is chemistry, i see her on a different light. I can tell you i am not looking like those dudes in your pics. from what i learned, women love getting attention (non verbal and verbal) and they want to know you care for them. they are less for the looks. I remember saying a few words to a girl (friend of a friend) and suddenly she had a crush for me. It was weird. I just spit some words. lately, there was a pretty girl in a relationship (dammit!) that i talked to, and after 1 conversation she started blushing and looked down and smiling all the time. I am a calm and confident (most of the time. i am still shy somewhere) introvert person that believes he has something between his eyes.

I guess everyone experiences sexual attraction in different ways. I don't think it's correct to stereotype sexual attraction for each gender. There maybe girls who experience it differently than you do. There may be some straight/bi guys who don't get turned on by just looking at a naked stranger. I think when a guy goes "Damn I would tap that" as you say it is a superficial attraction but it is just that, he will have forgotten about her 30 seconds later, to feel an actual attraction and want to take it further, there would have to be chemistry also. I find it a bit complicated because many woman get into a relationship with a guy who's not that attractive physically but yet he has a "good personality". Why would a woman be in a relationship with someone who isn't that aesthetically pleasing? Doesn't make sense.

I’ve felt sexual attraction for shirtless guys or guys with bulges showing, but it’s not very common. It happens pretty randomly. If I imagine him working on something or doing something sexual to me, though, I get aroused every time without fail.
