Girls, My crush sent me a heart emoji for the first time ! Is this a hint?

okay so I had this crush on that girl since I met her. I am a usually shy guy so i find it hard to talk to her at uni, even tho she often says hi to me , stealing glances at me when i am not looking and is sometimes a lot more reserved around me than she is over other people , unfortunately she wasn't very chatty to me when I tried to message her aswell so I thought maybe she didn't really like me back, sometimes she used a lot of different emojis, but no hearts, or else so I thought maybe she didn't like me back that way.
Over the Christmas break, I tried to message her a bit to keep in touch, sending her very sweet message for Christmas, which she sent back a very cute reply, then tried to make her laugh which she replied with a "ahahahahaha" (instead of just a lol or something which I assume was a good sign) and today she replied to my Happy New Year message with another cute message and for the first time included a heart emoji ! could this mean something? It was the first time she sent me one... (well she sent another one when we just met but that was just about what we talked about i don't think it was for me directly...)

I'd say so. She's both interested in your texts and sending emojis, especially a heart. I don't usually send emojis to guys unless I'm somewhat attracted to them and not afraid to show it! Good luck! :)

You have to be careful because everyone uses emojis now and they can mean something but they can also just be nothing. I'd flirt a bit to test the waters before anything
