If a guy texts you once every week, would you be annoyed if you two weren't close friends and you didn't like him romantically?

I was having a conversation with a girl recently and she told me that this guy would text her once a week and it's super annoying. I asked her why doesn't she just ignore him and not reply and she told me because he would usually ask a question and out of politeness she has to answer. She said that she still considers him as a good guy friend.
After hearing this I've become more self conscious with how often I text a girl, even if I am good friends with them.
So girls, would you be annoyed if a guy you had no romantic interests in and who was not a close friend were to just text you once a week?

as long as he doesn't expect a long reply or my full undivided attention every single conversation then I wouldn't mind. but I'm a busy person and in my free time I'd usually rather spend it relaxing than socializing. some days talking to people is exhausting, I'm an introvert and I'm sure any of you other introverts can agree on this. I just don't have the mental energy sometimes, it's never personal but I just can't sometimes. if someone gets mad at me for not having the energy to talk to them then that's how I know we shouldn't be friends. but I won't be mad just because they're texting me as long as they don't flirt because I tell everyone I met right of the bat that I'm celibate and not looking to date rn. you can absolutely tell when a guy is trying to be friendly and platonic but actually likes you romantically or is sexually attracted to you. and if I can sense that from someone then I'm gonna be less likely to be friendly. tbh I'm not very friendly at all to people who aren't in my small circle of close friends. I'm not rude or anything, I'm very civil and polite but not overly friendly and I just to drop hints that I don't wanna talk to them.

It really depends. I am sorta in that situation right now. Expect I know that the guy likes me (I do not like him that and made it very clear) and he would text me more than once a week (about 4 or 5 times a week i think) and I find it super annoying. I still consider him a friend and if he texted me like once a week I would be ok with that. It also depends on what the context of the text messages are about. If he's trying super hard to get with me/ hang out then I would be annoyed, but if he just wants to talk for fun then that ok with me.

So if it's a guy that I dislike greatly, and who isn't a friend at all, then yes I would be annoyed. I would probably block his number unless he was a work acquaintance or something, in that I actually need to be in contact with him occasionally.

If it's a friend, no, it wouldn't annoy me. We're friends. That's a little more often than I text my best friend, but as she is currently abroad and working as a teacher at an international school, we have difficulties catching each other at a good time.

No I wouldn't. If there's nothing going on with us, then I'd be grateful that he was at least just checking in to say hi or whatever. But if it's like carrying a conversation and he's making a reply once a week to it, then at some point I'd just ignore it or change the subject to make it like "how's everything, what's new, how's this or that"

Most women seem to find it annoying or act as if I'm annoying if I text once a month or every two weeks (for like two months).

I used to text from time to time and if it took hours to respond and it was always one word answers, I would quickly stop. It'd usually be something like where I'd check to see if people were going out after an event (if I couldn't make it until late). half the time I don't even get an answer, so I assume it's that I'm bothering them and I do my best to give it a break.

O dude now I'm wondering if the girl I like and am texting actually wants to talk or if I'm just a bother. She is to shy to flat out tell me and is to nice to ignore me. I say this is personally her problem. there is no reason for her to get so upset that he only texts her once a week. People are busy. If she has an issue with it, she should just told him that if he can't speak with her more than just once a week, that they shouldn't be talking to each other. Honesty. So much drama over a stupid text frequency? Romance have 0 to do with this. This is more like she's looking for something that isn't there and is making a stink out of it. How long have they been friends? If she can't learn to grow up forget it. She would have a hard time in modern dating if she can't even properly communicate her needs as a friend.

it's just 1 text a weeks I doubt that makes him interested he just wants to talk. No harm done it that, it's not like he's texting her everyday being clingy. If he's just like a random guy I get it but if he's a friend it shouldn't be a problem right. I hardly ever text but i wouldn't mind if my friends texted me a couple times a week.

Yes I would, I put my time to good use to message people or reply to people who are worth my time. If his not putting in half his effort in what we have then I can't have that around. Unless he actually can't message me afew times a week for a proper conversation then thats fine. But hate the floaters, I shoot them down fast.

It all depends on what he's texting me about. I have a several close guy friends, if he were to constantly text me about something that I've already gave him my opinion about - then yeah, stop texting. If It's to go grab drinks, hang out for an outing, ask for advice... I don't mind.

It depends. It would only be annoying if the guy is obviously trying something with me and I try to show him that I'm not interested but he still insits. That's annyoing. Because girls usually don't want to be rude or hurt the guy.
