Why are unattractive guys seen more as a threat than good looking guys?

How can a passive, shy, meek, too nice of a guy, virgin unattractive guy be more of a threat than the arrogant manipulative womanizing player who's too full of himself?

I think that because females generally are known for caring a lot more about personality than looks, 'unattractive' underdogs can be seen as a threat. Unless the girl has a strict preference for 'bad boys' (which underlies a whole different type of issue), a guy that's nice to her can easily be the rebound or the next person she turns to if something goes wrong in her relationship. Women are emotional creatures, and if there was someone who I knew i could rely on to treat me nicely when i needed support the most, I would much prefer to run to the nice guy than to feel manipulated and belittled by an attractive player any day.

Nah! I doubt you. Sorry. If the player is capable of manipulating you, that means he knows you (or your kind) and your "dreams". Either you know yourself good enough, you countermanipulate to strike back. That may result in a challenge, a game of peers on par. As exhaustive it may become it is always a good idea to have sanctuary of nice (maybe even predictable) guy. So... at first, you wouldn't see a manipulator, it is only then when uncovered. Unless you heed the warnings of third persons, if not, you become disappointed at yourself for being blind.

@Paulo_Kane Or maybe I'm just slightly biased because womanizing players aren't my type at all, and im a softie for the 'nice guys'. all women are different, my dude, maybe your analogy would better suit another gal. I respect your opinion though, if the nice guy was a manipulator I could easily fall into the trap, but the question specifies not only a manipulator, but an 'arrogant, womanizing player who is too full of himself' who also happens to be a manipulator, which is very different in my opinion.

Although a guy can be good looking and creepy as well but the creep factor always includes the attractiveness. Or you could say, ugly people are less confident and can't really present themselves so, it adds up more. It's really all about knowing yourself and presenting yourself to others.

Here you lack interaction with women right? Well, communication is a very attractive skill which improves with time. Talk more, find ways to start conversation and keep it light. Taking care of your looks, getting right haircut, right clothes brings out the best in you. Subtle things works the best. Talk to self why you're not confident, here's a tip its not great but think of things you're good in, and feel superior because some girls don't have anything to offer other than looks, be the alpha. And sure that selection of girls, if you're a 6 don't aim to be a 8 or 9..
