Girlfriend talks to me with a baby voice?

So, my Girlfriend works are a Teacher so works with little kids at her school - she likes her job and would really like kids one day - she admitted.

I am 22 and she is 25 and we have together for just over a year.

I notice that regularly she speaks and talks to me like a baby like she's addressing a child it's quite embarrassing in public - a lot of people stare like their's something wrong.

Is this normal or should I be concerned - I don't mind her talking like that at home but out in public it is quite embarrassing.

You are absolutely correct. Teachers tend to be the kind of person who have a hard time listening to others. I was a paraprofessional working with special needs children and they were really uncooperative and disrespectful. It was the children who suffered and I wanted to choke the crap out of those teachers for making my job that much harder and frustrating and setting those children back who already had enough problems.

I baby talk to my husband. Sometimes it just happens. But by baby talk, I simply mean a higher, more gentle, child-like voice. Studies say that women naturally speak in a higher voice around men we like. Men apparently speak in a deeper voice around women they like.
But if you mean that she speaks down to you as if simplifying things and making you feel like a kid, I don't do that. It would be frustrating if someone did that to me.
If you're uncomfortable, talk to her about it it may simply be that she's just used to talking like that because she's doing it all day at work.

You need to tell her to knock that shit off right now! She probably doesn't realize she is doing it but that's no reason to put up with it. A lot of the early grade teachers I know get into that speech mode and talk to everyone like that. Baby talk to adults is unacceptable. It's really creepy and you can't let her do it. That's not only for your personal relationship but other people are going to think there is something wrong with her for speaking to adults like that.

I like to act like a baby sometimes and snuggle up to my boyfriend, talking to him like I talk to my students? Not sure. I will ask him. I have taught k, 1, 4,5 grade students.

It's subconscious. She probably doesn't realize that she is doing it. Just politely tell her that she is doing it in public even if she doesn't realize it. And you would appreciate it if she worked on stopping.

loads of people who work with children subconsciously speak to other adults the same way they speak to the kids they work with. it's just subconscious, don't be offended by it, she probably doesn't even realise she's doing it

Some couples this is normal. I do with my boyfriend and he does a similar voice back.
