Let's have a serious talk: How many of you girls are truly serious about your bra fitting properly regardless of your bra size?

Question

As far as I know, 70-80% of women wear the wrong bra size. I believe the percentage decreased because of more people using the internet and more women being conscious about their choices of bras.

I once read that wearing the wrong size bra can cause anything from as common as annoying back and shoulder pains to even as severe cases as breast cancer! I don't know how true the breast cancer thing is, but, um, I don't wanna take any risk about it and other bad things. But I do see myself feeling less self-conscious when I wear a perfect fit. I really feel like it's something that I shouldn't neglect, but my mom and sister refuse to agree.

After going to a real lingerie shop and getting a fitting, I have never bought the wrong size again. I have owned my bras for quite some time and I hand wash and air dry them.
It isn't a one size world. Even now that I know what I wear. It can change with the style of the bra I want. It costs a little more to shop at those shops but is well worth it when my bra lasts for years and not months.

I'm serious about wearing a bra that fits well. I mean... nothing looks good about those double boobs you get if you're wearing a size that's too small, nor would that be in the least bit comfortable. Bras that are too big might be comfortable but are pretty guaranteed to not look too good, either.

I know my correct size, but I don't wear it, because it's not sold in regular stores and costs too much (60€+). So I just get the closest to best fit that I can get for about 20€ in a regular store.

I work at Victoria's Secret and I had to measure one girl who said her bra size was 38C. After measuring her she was a 36DD. She was wearing the wring size and she was wondering why she had the double boob going on. She was also spilling out of the cups a lot.

i heard underwire bras cut off lymph nodes or something, which can increase the risk for breast cancer. better off taking the wire out, sports bra, or braless. or go a bigger size to loosen the wire a bit

Having been "cursed" in having an extremely large bust, I have naturally always had to be extra cautious and more selective when buying bras.
Fortunately near where I live there are some excellent lingerie stores with professionally trained bra fitters who I can fully rely on for help, guidance and advice.
As and when funds allow, I do treat myself to perhaps having a couple of custom made bras.

I've been wearing the wrong size for several years now, I didn't have the money to go and buy a proper bra and get measured properly. When I started making good money I went to Victoria's secret ( like last month) and just splurged. It's feels and looks a lot better.

I just buy ones that are comfortable and feel like they fit. Different brands run slightly differently, and different styles feel different, so I always have to try them on anyway, even if I know "my size".

I don't even know if my bra fits properly. I was measured once, and that was when I was 11 or 12 and I was 34A. Now though, I think I'm a B cup but I'm not even sure myself, but I'm not comfortable letting someone touch me. I'm B or C though.

I read a lot about proper bra fitting, but I've never had the money for a good quality one, so I buy whatever is cheapest and live with the bra being uncomfortable.

Measuring correctly gives you the right size. With that right size , use a one size smaller to fit properly and be more supportive.

I do measure myself and I do want to have a bra that fits. However, my boobs swell up on my period and I don't wear a bra that fits them then and I just stuff them into my 30I bra.
