It always seemed quite weird to me, but quite a lot of my female friends and acquaintances absolutely FREAK OUT when it comes to their bra outlines or bra straps showing, even when it's just BARELY noticeable.

Like the above picture... to me at least it's barely noticeably, and if I encountered that woman in real life I wouldn't even notice her bra outline or bra strap unless I was specifically looking for it. Yet many women whose bras are showing just as much as the woman in the photo or even LESS than her still freak out about it.

Maybe it has something to do with "perfectionism" or "professionalism" or "formality" or whatever, but EVEN when just wearing a casual tank top or whatever, even if just to the gym or to the beach or whatever, they'd STILL complain about it.

Maybe I'm the weird one, but I literally couldn't care less about this "issue"...

It’s going to be difficult to align things perfectly anyway and things can slip out of place.


It would be like judging someone for their shoelaces not being tied with perfectly matching measurements for both their shoes.


If something is off by a centimeter, it’s not a big deal.


Though, it might be a good idea to pick a bra that’s well color-coordinated with the rest of their outfit just in case the strap is shown.


That way, even if their strap is seen, it’ll look intentional if everything goes together nicely.

And yeah, haha... the black bra strap with the burgundy tank top certainly DOES look really good on her! I certainly think it ADDS to her outfit if anything, rather than subtracting. I feel like without the black bra strap her outfit would've looked a bit too plain. And the bra outline showing through her tank top keeps her outfit from looking unnaturally smooth, which to me personally would look pretty boring. The bra outline adds some good texture/detail I think.

It's really quite a simple thing, and if I were talking to her in real life I probably wouldn't even notice it... but then when the moment would come when I WOULD notice it, I would definitely think "wow cute" instead of "wow tacky." I might even compliment her on it directly if we were to ever become close friends, too. It would probably be weird/creepy to compliment a stranger or acquaintance on such an oddly specific rather personal thing, though. 😅

Yes haha. With close friends it's different because close friends can pretty much say (almost) anything to each other (within reason). Stuff that would be offensive if it came from a stranger or an acquaintance could become funny if said by a close friend, since you know they mean no harm. And with close friends you have a better notion of boundaries and stuff anyway.

But yeah... "Really nice outfit by the way. I love your color choices! They look great on you," is pretty much perfect for ANY situation, and can't really go wrong.

Like if a man thought a woman's cleavage looked nice in her dress, obviously saying "nice cleavage" would be WAAAAY out of line. But just simply saying, "Nice dress! You look great!" is pretty much uncontroversial.

My reactions to seeing bra outlines or bra straps is only ever neutral to positive, NEVER negative unless it was to some sort of very formal or professional or fancy occasion. It's not that the bra showing becomes bad, but in that situation is just kind of looks too casual in the same way wearing shorts to a fancy dinner would.

But yeah... usually I don't even notice the bra straps or bra outlines anyway since I often don't much attention to smaller details, but if I DO notice it I usually think "hmmm cute!" rather than "hmmm tacky!" Haha.

Like with the woman in the picture, the black bra strap looks pretty nice with the dark red tank top, and I think it looks nice to see her bra outline since we know the specific type of bra she chose to go along with her outfit. Since she chose a cleavage bearing tank top, she naturally had to choose a cleavage bearing bra as well that ended right below the cleavage of her tank top, since if the bra didn't show cleavage the bra would just end up showing higher right over her tank top because of the higher neckline bra combined with the lower neckline tank top... and that wouldn't have been good, haha.

So basically the bra outline shows an insight of how she put the outfit together. And I think it's nice, as it gives a glimpse of what went through her mind when she put the outfit together. Whereas if you couldn't see her bra outline... the outfit would just look kind of plain, haha.

By the way, if I just saw her in real life I wouldn't think about all this, but when just looking at a picture by itself like this I notice the smaller details I wouldn't pay attention to in real life, haha.

If she's wearing a low neckline top, however... if she goes with the "cleavage-less" bra it will obviously be higher than the neckline of her top, so she has to go with a bra that shows cleavage.

Seeing the bra outline kind of tells you all that in an unspoken sort of way. Like the girl in the picture... she's showing cleavage, and you can see the bra outline slightly below her cleavage. If she chose a cleavage-less bra it would obviously just show higher than her tank top. So even though it's just a simple thing, you obviously know she considered this and chose the perfect bra for the outfit, accordingly.
