She reads my texts, but continually doesn’t respond.. what does this mean?

there's this girl I really like, and we’ve been texting semi frequently, and even FaceTiming. Well for the last couple days she has been reading my texts but not responding to them. Is she just uninterested or playing hard to get?

It's hard to say based on just a few sentences about her, like none of us know her better than you do.
But I would say that people, in general, rarely ignore people they like for several days straight. I'm not saying she hates you but it does seem more like disinterest to me, considering that she's been so willing to respond and facetime in the past. If she was playing hard to get, this sort of behavior most likely would have been shown quite early on.
But either way this is not a good thing. Disinterest is not good, for obvious reasons. Playing hard to get is also bad, it's a shitty tactic to get someone's attention and usually just ends up with the other person feeling ignored and toyed with. Either way she's making herself look bad and I would advise you to stop texting her. She's read the messages, her fingers most likely still work, but she has chosen not to respond. That's her right, I suppose, but you also have the right to stop pursuing her and (possibly) feeding into her petty little games (if that's what she's doing).
For the sake of you not looking like a loser, just leave it at that. If she doesn't respond at some point and apologizes for leaving you hanging, I would suggest you move on. It's sad that she seemed so into it and had no trouble talking to you before, but has now dropped off the face of the earth. I know that feeling and it sucks. But try to cheer yourself up, by knowing that you dodged a bullet. People who play games like that or suddenly just stop talking whenever they feel like it tend to make really shitty partners, no matter how good of an impression you got of them at first.

No problem :) and good luck in the future. Try to show girls that you have very little tolerance for BS like that. Some girls only play games because they think it works. If you show them that it doesn't work, they'll stop and maybe learn something. And in the same way, when it comes to getting ignored, try to show them that you're "ok" with it. I mean, nobody is *really* ok with being ignored, but you don't have to show it to them. No matter what their reason for ignoring you is, messaging them over and over to try to get them to respond is just not a good idea. Either it'll annoy them and make them even less likely to respond, or they'll be thrilled at seeing you essentially begging.

I've also talked with some guys quite a bit over text, but when they start getting overwhelming and texting me more than once every day, I do either not respond or write something very quick and reply 2 days later. I haven't talked to them since.

So just give her some space, and don't overwhelm her. She's probably sensed something about your feelings, and you just have to wait it out a little bit. Wait for her to reach out to you next time.

She's either not interested and doesn't want to be direct about it. Or, you said something that offended her. Look at the last conversation you had. If you said something that could have been taken the wrong way, maybe that's the reason. If it was a normal conversation, she just lost interest. Either way, you should back off and try to move on. If it was a misunderstanding and she regains interest, she'll reach out to you. But don't hold your breath, waiting.

Playing hard to get is usually taking a few hours to respond.. making it look like you're not so excited to text back but if she hasn't texted back after a couple days AND is reading your texts she's most likely not interested. Unless you said something that got her to stop texting. Go back in the conversation and see if there was any point you or she said something that lead to her being less responsive
