I don't think many older women 25+ think it's funny or acceptable to kick a guy in the balls.

As kids to teenagers it was always a joke that guys would ask you to kick them in the balls to either prove themselves or to be funny.

Violence is always involved in comedy. It's like a woman punching another woman in the boob etc.

You're more likely to do it as a young adult. The only time I've seen someone do it without provocation is a chavvy girl trying to 'prove herself' but really they're just a shitty person overall.

It can also just be a simple but impactful vocal threat, it's not hard to do it so guys are more likely not to take the risk.

Other times it's out of anger eg. catching someone in the moment cheating. Can even be a kind of last resort self defence if a guy is harassing you, the girl is likely to feel vulnerable and do something painful to help themselves.

I'm not sure how much comedy you've seen but punching each other is all over it. Both sexes push each other over the edge of tall buildings, there's been many scenes where a guys knocked a girl out with his fist to stop her from saying something private, it's funny once you understand it's nothing serious!

I think it's not such a shocker to say it because the likelihood of them actually doing it is minimal. Just like either a man or woman saying they'll kill their partner if they're cheating on them - no one bats an eyelid because they're not serious about it, they're just angry.

Trust me women who beat up their husbands or boyfriends are absolute scum and get scolded for it - more so now than ever. It's definitely a smaller topic but no woman is made an angel for beating up her man.

That movie is from 37 years ago. Dont pretend that there isn't a thousand times more comedic violence against men in movies, especially against their genitalia. In "the Heat" Sandra Bullock castrates the bad guy by shooting his crotch 2 times, and thats somehow supposed to be funny. There is no way that would ever happen to a woman in any movie or TV show.

I personally also don't find it as funny because I don't find the actor that shot they guy as funny as the other one.
