At what age did you, or would you, let your daughter wear thong, or g-string, panties? At what age did your parents let you?

This is a poll but I really want to know what you think about this so please leave a comment as well and share your views with us, please!

First off, both thongs and g-strings lose the "function of underwear" for both comfort and hygiene. Yeah, yeah, yeah, they are "sexy" but that's because of the skillful advertising of lingerie companies and the stupid hype you see on magazines and films. But hey, if a girl wants to wear those garments and then really believes that its the garment that makes her "sexy and confident" as all the trash media manipulates the two marbles clattering around in her skull to think... well, then let her do it. I hold the line though on the young numbskulls below the age of 12. I'd rather help them spend time becoming physically strong, emotionally independent, and intellectually acute. Having these as a set of skills goes well with a bare ass any day!

No g-string thong until 16, however regular thong is fine because I know I myself find them more comfortable than any other type of underwear. No less than 12 though because generally thongs tend to be more comfortable than briefs (in my experience) when you have more curves on your body, and that tend to come more for girls as they age.

We were well aware of different underwear at primary school. Thongs etc would not have been allowed then, at least not at school. My mum did have some limits! At home, it is a bit different. Having been brought up as a naturist, thongs would not have been a problem. It is more that I always wanted to be comfortable, and even now, I find them awful to wear.

It reminded me of a rhyme we used to say at primary school:

Ooh! Ah! I lost my bra!
I left it in my boyfriend's car!

I got my first thong when I was 15. I started wearing them regularly when I was 16 and added g-strings to the mix at 17. If I have a daughter, if she decides she wants to wear thongs, I would be ok with it once she gets to high school. About 14 or 15 seems about the earliest it would be age appropriate.

I personally don't understand what the big deal is lol it's just underwear no one sees it. Once I got to the age where I was buying my own clothing and undergarments, my mom never even stopped to look at the type of underwear I wear, yet I have a friend who's turning 20 and she tells me her mom would never let her wear thongs...

i doubt parents buy their kids thongs. or know about it. the teenager would just save up and buy it, i imagine. my parents did not monitor my underwear collection. nor was i interested in wearing dental floss. uncomfortable & kind of defeats the original purpose of wearing them. hygiene.

I was like 18 before I tried them. I do not care what underwear my children decide to wear, I don't see why that's particularly my business. I wouldn't be particularly comfortable with it before like 16 but since I'm not the one wearing it and thongs aren't necessarily even bad things, I'm not going to have some weird ass underwear rule.

My mum bought me my first gstring when i was 14 .. it was just black cotton nothing to sexy. but i found them comfy now i have a couple draws full of gstring mostly real pretty , tiny ones that cost a lot... can't skimp on price if you want quality.

Id let my daughter wear a gstring when she gets to 13 or 14

My daughter first wore one at 15. (her age now)
Mom never let me or sis wear them as teens. My sister wore them as soon as she moved out on her own.
My daughter had brought up the subject of being able to wear a thong when she was 14. I had told her i thought she was too young.
My sister and mom thought i was unfair and in fact my mom bought my daughter a thong.
