When I was 11 years old, I secretly started wearing thongs and gstrings without my parents permission.
I did this for several reasons, firstly I played a lot of sports at school and got annoyed with ordinary panties while playing sports because I ended up with too much fabric getting stuck up my butt. Secondly, I was very insecure about panty lines. And finally, I wanted to feel more sexy and mature and become more confident in my appearance.
I got away with wearing thongs and gstrings without my parents noticing for about 6 months before I made the fatal mistake of accidentally dropping one of my thongs in the family laundry basket, needless to say my mom soon found it.
After several days of arguing with my parents about them, my parents realised that I had previously been wearing thongs and gstrings for so long without any boy problems, they realised that I was wearing them responsibly so after contemplating with each other my parents eventually caved and let me continue wearing them.
My question to parents is, at what age do you think it's acceptable for your daughter to start wearing thongs and gstrings?

Honestly I'd let my daughter choose what style of underwear she felt most comfortable in and as long as she's taking care of herself it wouldn't be any of my business. As your child gets older you're going to have to give them the talk... I can tell you from personal experience I did not get the talk, no "ok so consent--" no I didn't get anything. I got sources through the good old internet. If you don't take the time to safely educate your child that child will end up learning from outside sources and trust me when I say you will not have control over it if you leave it up to them to find out. We shouldn't be sexualizing the clothing choices of minors either.
Like men's boxers or girl boxers? I hate men's boxers, they bunch up in my pants, show underwear lines on my thighs, give me wedgies, and get sweaty in the summer and sticks to my legs. Thongs tho are comfy!!! No more bunching up fabric making me uncomfortable, no awkward underwear lines, helps keep me cool in the summer, and it doesn't restrict my leg movement. Thongs are pretty cheap too, I always stock up on new ones when Victoria's Secret or PINK has a sale
I started at age 10 for same reasons you did and parents didn't know till i was 13 and for same reasons they let me continue was i wasn't intrested in boys and had no boy problems
eighteen. im not a dad and even i think that she should be 18 before she does. yes, i know, they avoid panty lines, but, i just dont think she should wear them before 18
ultimately though, i don't have the right to tell a woman what to wear. trust me guys, if you tell a girl what to wear, it will come back to haunt you
They don't just get rid of panty lines. When playing any kind of sport, a thong or a gstring is so much more comfortable because ordinary panties can end up giving you wedgies especially if running is involved. Also in gymnastics, the judges will deduct points of your score if they see panty lines under your leotard. Plus wearing a thong or a gstring especially as a girl in her early teens can give her such a confidence boost and make her feel more mature.
It depends! I wore thongs at 10 under my leotards when competing in gymnastics, (as the judges deduct points for visible underwear. However, if my mom found out I was wearing them to school or somewhere else, she would have been pissed!
@Debbie14217 didn’t your mom buy your leotard thongs? Who bought them? I got to wear mine more by complaining that they were uncomfortable, and my mom said wear them to practice then, you’ll get used to them soon enough! So I goy to wear a thong to school 3 days a week (and little mermaid & Dora the explorer panties the other two days… quite the contrast eh?
Don't have a daughter yet and unsure if I ever will in the future or not. but would likely start allowing her to wear them in her teenage years. provided her mother approved and she wore them responsibly that is. wouldn't want her going around in outfits reveling them to others. causing unwanted attention/issues for her or us to end up needing to deal with.
As soon as she is old enough to pick them out herself. As a same sex parent, it wouldn’t be a big deal if I did know but if she is the only one that knows then why would it matter if she is wearing them? So probably like 13. I started wearing them until I was like 16-17 even though I could’ve worn them before
Girl! Trust me, they are so much more comfortable that ordinary panties even though they not look it. It will take a few days to get use to once you first try them but after that it's like fairydust, it feels like you're wearing no underwear at all.
If a girl is wearing thongs already at 11. You can be sure her life will be one of a whores life. Learning to use your body before your brain is the dumbest thing a woman can do or parent allow.
Sure. I have nothing wrong with people doing what they want with their life if they aren't harming others. You just need to know that being a slut is for life. Especially with the internet. If you want a family later on in life there's no switch for you to flip that erases your past. A lot of women slut it up through their 20s and then want to come back around and "settle" Example: Cat ladys, career women, karens, mid 30s feminists etc. It doesn't work like that for "good men" who respect themselves and the wife or lover they eventually want. Hence the preference for virgins throughout history.
Tldlr: We love sluts. We're just not IN love with sluts.
10 is an appropriate age. They are responsible enough to care about their hygiene

I am not a parent but I would think that a girl's arrival at puberty would be the time to let her begin - slowly - to try out some more adult fashions.
I would never allow that ever as long as she’s under my roof all that is for is to show the guys what your wearing after the date then it turns into sex

@Snsl153 I tend to agree with you so long as my daughter is an adult. But you asked for my opinion, and I gave it. I think women should not be wearing G-strings and thongs; I have th same opinion about guys wearing them. by the way, are you aware that they were created by men?
I never really knew, their mom I think let them once they wanted to, it’s not a big deal really, it’s just underwear, some girls might not wear any so I wonder if that’s worse? I think they probably started in their early teens
