She has a boyfriend, but texts me 24/7. Why?

I've met with a girl not long ago, but ever since we're texting each other almost all the time every day, up from the moment she wakes up, to the moment one of us goes to sleep. The strangest thing is, she has a boyfriend, so why a woman do this, texting to an almost complete stranger all day?

Maybe her boyfriend doesn't give her enough attention and this is what she needs. Maybe she likes to talk with someone and feel needed and loved.
But to be honest, it is hard to say. Did she ever talk about her boyfriend?

She never calls her boyfriend by her name. Actually I don't know what his name at all. She always tells how great time they spend together, but frankly I don't know anything about the guy at all, not even his name. I find this a bit strange as even when I talk about my exes, I always speak about them by calling them on their name.

Well, that's weird.
Personally, when I was in a relationship, my boyfriend was my priority. He was the one who used to get a morning message from me and the rest had to wait for when I will be free. I barely text other guys and if I did, it was from time to time and definitely not the whole day. I wouldn't find it fair for my boyfriend because I wouldn't like him to do it as well.

I don't want to judge her as I don't know her and her situation so I might just guess. And it seems like there have to be not enough communication between her and her boyfriend because otherwise, she wouldn't have so much time to text with others.

And did you meet her in person?

No. Our common friends met him once or twice, so he does exists. But once again, today morning, 8am, she already texted me. Yesterday she texted me at 5am.

I'm wondering if her boyfriend knows about you.
For me it's like the person you text as first at the morning is the one you are thinking the most about. When I wake up I barely think about anything and I would definitely not start a conversation with someone if there was no important thing. But of course she might be different.
But it seems like she really needs attention, she needs someone to talk to and someone who will be there for her most of the time. So probably her boyfriend is not...
I mean, most of girls when they are getting into relationship, they change somehow and have less time for you as friends (I'm talking about my female friends). And that's completely understandable - they have someone new important and they have to share time between friends and boyfriend. But I have no friends that would text me 24/7 because that's really way too much.

And did you talk with her about it?

We talk about a lot of things, but we don't talk about her boyfriend at all. She mentions him time to time, but that's all. As I mentioned, I don't even know what his name is. And again today we're speaking all day since she woke up. And she has plenty girlfriends, and unlike about her boyfriend, she is talking about them. And she is speaking to them too. So that's why I wonder why she is talking to me right from the moment she is waking up, to the moment she is going to asleep. That's why I find this weird. But she is keeping the conversation going basically about everything.

And yes, that's a good question that her boyfriend knows about me or not.

A little update; we talked basically all day about everything. She mentioned her boyfriend time to time, but still without any name. I wonder on this a lot as whenever I talked to her even to my ex, I also called her by her name. Frankly, its damned weird. And we talk basically about everything, sex, relationships, fun things, etc, etc...

Not really as the discussions isn't about her at all. I don't have to acknowledge her on any front. That's why I wonder on this.

I wouldn't say she is depressed, but something is definitely off.

Well, that's true. However its a bit new to me that we've texted much more in the last three days than with my ex-girlfriend within about four months.

Well, good to know. I like her, because she is very supportive. Helped me to finally break up with my girlfriend yesterday. I hesitated a lot with this lately. :)
