So I met a girl through a mutual friend?

We're both church goers. I'm a senior in high school, she's a junior. We go to different schools, and different churches, but I see her around, and I kinda have a crush on her, and I hear she has a crush on me too, but I never know what to say to her. I'm not necessarily looking to go out with her, but I do want to get to know her better. What do I do to go about talking to her, and when I do, what do I talk about? And, please don't tell me to be myself, I already know that.

dude you shouldn't even need to ask - mutual friends are instant "ins." just talk to your friend about the situation, tell him or her that you want to hang out with the girl, and set up something. Maybe hang out at your friends house, go to a movie, or something... I don't know where you live so I don't know what there is to do. but you get the idea. if you do get to liking her, invite her to go to church with you, or something. start hanging out with her 1 on 1. you are a senior so I assume you have some experience with talking to girls o.O

Yeah, and I've had girls like me before, but I guess you can say I'm picky, I don't go for looks. This is only the second girl I've actually liked back, and the last girl, I was close to already when I started liking her, so it was easier to talk to her. I don't know why, I just draw blanks when the girl I like now is around.

I feel ya. Just relax and let it happen, that's my philosophy. Looks are way more important in high school than in college... Now most of the "super hot" girls are 'sororrity sluts.' Of course I'm not in a frat so I can say these things ;] but yeh, there are tons of beautiful girls with beautiful personalities. if you think you have found one, don't let her get away. I get nervous sometimes too but everyone does. chances are she is too. Just set up that first meeting, that's the hard part

This is really helpful, but like I said, I'm not necisarily looking to date right now, I just want to get to know her. I feel like if I ask her on a date, she'll get the wrong impression. Not that I wouldn't date her, but I've got too much on my plate as it is.
