Why do my she mimic my actions and words?

I have a coworker who mimic my words and actions that I do or say. I also see her studying me and my clever responses. I see things differently and I'm witty. We have only been coworkers for a short amount of time. All my coworkers tell me that it feels longer than a few months. But this 1 coworker she try to play mean and bash me but it doesn't work cause I'm quick with my witty responses.
She even now started mimicking me n how I would respond in certain situations.

Sometimes when I dont talk to her and talk/laugh with other coworkers she will say something to me that she know I'm going to have a quick witty response to and start bashing her back. That's when I notice slowly but surely over this short time (past month and a half) she mimic my actions and try to use it against me. I can even tell sometimes when she stare at me and smile before I respond to her I can see the wheels in her head spinning cause she never know what I'm going to say next. She tries to joke back at me using my witty style of jokes but she haven't mastered it yet.

Everyday she gets better at studying me. We bash each other. Even though she initiates the bashing and I clearly finish them. Oh we do this in front of everyone and they all laugh at my responses. This goes on our whole shift back and forth. I out witt her everytime. She can't do nothing but smile and try again. She also started opening up to me about personal life.

My question is why she love bashing me first? I think I'm being used for a laugh lol

she told me sometimes she want to choke me and I get on her nerves, joking that I'm on her bad side. Now she start mimicking my words, actions and some of my jokes and try to use them against me. Is this normal coworker behavior or making of a close friendship? Fyi she has a boyfriend. All jokes aside I just been wondering I notice she slowly starting to act like me and talk like me. She even hear everything I say. Just curious.

Typo in original question I was in a rush at 11:30pm. Sleepy amd had a long day just wanted to get all of this out as quickly as possible.
