If you're black and speak Spanish you are still black. Culturally you'd be whatever country you came from but being Brazilian or whatever doesn't change your skin color. What people commonly consider Latina is the majority population of Spanish and Portuguese colonial descendants which where originally white Europeans that mixed with North Africans during Moorish occupation. So they they mixed with Arabs (already mixed) and some other black moors and got a little more tan but still appear predominately white. Culturally you’d be more warm hearted and use to closeness in space than most Americans in general and most likely be less standoffish than a lot of African Americans so you might not face the same cultural barriers.
The way the U. S. works is demonstrated by what happened to Tiger Woods. His mom is Asian & his dad is black. Tiger insisted that he was Asian. When Tiger was a success & model citizen, the white majority agreed with him. The second he hit scandal they called him black.
So if a mixed person does well off they don't have to claim there blackness?
My entire life i have never heard it put that way 🤨
Tiger has always been “half black half asian”
@sleepingsnorlax, well ‘black’ is a cultural idea & a political idea. Hence the definition of black (according to the majority) changed over the years. At the end of the day politicians wrote laws to define it in ways that suited their agenda. Not saying you’re wrong... just saying that it’s complicated.
You think racists out number minorities?
I call BS on that. Im a minority and I've met two people who i can think of that i thought were truly racist
Latina is an ethnicity and black is a race... They don't mean the same thing. I'm glad I don't live in the US, some of you guys are very ignorant when it comes to identity. Focusing on identity that much in the first place is a waste of time.
But you "identify" as being Dominican, right?
It's really up to them some of them don't consider themselves black.
So being black is a mind set.

I see you have an issue with the whole concept of "race". It isn't real. You are not what groups of people think you are. You are what you identify as, if that group accepts you. Some Afro-Latinos definitely identify with either African cultures, African-American Culture or Caribbean Cultures. That is up to them and the group they are identifying with.
You can't make someone identify with African-American Culture. They either do or they do not. And just because someone looks at them and throws them into a racial group that does not mean a thing.
It can't.
@hahahmm That is not the same. And this proves my point exactly. I lead a race/culture discussion group. In it are Senegalese immigrants. One lady spoke up about her experience in America because of her supposed race.
But she does not identify as being African-American. African-Americans are much more than a group of people that racists do not like.
We have a history and a culture. It is defined in what we commonly call the "Black experience". Just because most of us understand those words does not mean someone from Africa or the Caribbean understands it the moment they step on U. S. soil. And this is despite all the crazed racist crap they will have to put up with.
I'm sorry, what was the question? All the blood in my brain just went into my dick
lmaoo
They are mixed blood that is both
African -black- and Latin -mixed blood also-
It's more important that her father's nation.
If her father is African, she is also African -black-
but her father is Latina, she is Latina -mixed blood- too.
Nevertheless, she is mixed blood in any way as their
mom and father have different nations.

The United States Census would categorize them as Hispanics.
The word is Amerimutt.
it depends on who you're talking to. To me, they are black with latino culture. But I think they would have to bubble in Latina/Hispanics on applications because their colonizers were Spanish speaking instead of English.
Latina is not a race. please learn geography. A race is black or white. latina is a nationality. Anyone born in Latin America can be latino regardless of race.
All these uneducated people
Uneducated American, nothing special
@the notorious I'm an American and I'm educated but to an extent I'll have to agree with you.
Latina is not a nationality idiot
Nationality is the country you’re from, hence the word NATION in it smh
I know 😂😂🤣🤣 the yg are so lost and know nothing about history. @aesthetic girl go read.
To the majority of people, if someone has any Black blood in them, they are Black.

America as in the US or one of the other countries cause America... she's a big lady.
It's interesting that when you're of mixed race your skin tone determines your race, and when you're mixed you can be referred to as "light skinned" by other black people.
They're considered people, near as I can tell. That's all that matters. No vote.
Mixed. Just like any other mixed race. Very beautiful woman in the picture.
Whats up with all those categorizing of people in america?
They're retarded
For me it depends on her hair, if she has curly afro hair like this one then she looks more like a black woman , if she has straight hair then she will look more like a latina
Are bowlers considered smokers or right-handed? Hello! the two are NOT mutually exclusive!
Of course. If your skin is dark enough you're considered black. Most Latinas should be considered black
They should be considered both once someone knows. :/ I'm black and white, I'm both not just one.
