Men and women are similar in many regards, but the way we are brought up is extremely different. Girls are fully aware of how important looks are for men. Moreover, women are constantly being compared to women who are 10s by marketing commercials. Similarly, it's those male "enhancement" commercials that make us men insecure of our penis sizes. Everybody wants to be loved and some people rely on their looks to get it cause they aren't able to get it in other ways. Sometimes they feel all their social connections are filtered through their looks and people won't show them attention or affection or emotional interest if they don't rely on their looks to get it.
