Why are older women (usually middle-aged) often so rude to younger women?

I don't know I wasn't there for the situation but you have to look at it from this point of view I mean if your 21 and beautiful and your skin is perfect and everywhere you go you got guys drooling behind you when you walk by middle-aged woman probably get out presents at her or you know she's jealous or you know I mean I don't know how the whole lot of women that are best friends anyways but but you know if you're invading her in her territory and you know you're taking away some of the some of the vestiges of Huffman her that she might have a jazz at yeah of course she's not going to be happy with you

okay, well, i dress modestly and i always try to be kind to people. i don't really think it is mature for them to be rude without a reason. for instance, i get immature eye rolls and huffs and murderous glares, and i'll just be sitting down on the bus or somehting in my winter jacket, not exposing any skin besides my face. i know i will be a middle-aged woman one day as well, but i certainly won't be immature or rude. i am not saying all ladies are this way. just many of them. i know some young women can be rude and egotistical, but this does not give "older and wiser" ladies a right to go around being rude to every woman between 13 and 40 without just cause.

yup, i figured as much. but i am tired of it. i am also insecure, i've always struggled with my weight, and when i see a prettier, hotter girl than me, i don't growl at her. unless she is rude and stuck up, that is a different situation, but if she is minding her own business or trying to be nice, i see no reason to be a bitch. anyways, whatever. it used to get me really angry in the past and i would confront many of them, but now i just keep my mouth shut and let them growl away. their glares won't burn a hole through me. (i don't disrespect older ladies, just so you know. my mother is also middle-aged, and she doesn't behave in this way. i have nothing against older ladies and realize that i too will be old one day. i just can't stand some people's rudeness though)

hmm, i don't feel that hurt to be honest. pissed? Sure. but i think ignoring them is my best option, since it helps cool me down. i'd rather just avoid conflict than escalate it. besides, i'd rather not waste my energy on something so immature. older ladies acting like high school bullies. sheesh.

Well I’m middle age or even above in some people’s opinions and I’m not rude unless provoked. Even when I was young I always thought enough of myself to stand up for myself. Nor am I jealous of those younger than me. I’m healthy financially stable single and looking and I’ve raised my children. I’m in my sexual prime and frankly I look great for my age. If you are noticing their glares, are you sure you’re not giving them a sympathetic or judgmental look yourself? I for one cannot hide emotions or thoughts from my face... everyone reads me like a book!

please, some older women walk around acting like nuns when they were probably wilder and more egotistical than 80 percent of the women they glare at now. i am sick and tired of having these ladies huff and growl at me. my mother is in her fifties as well, but she is hotttt. in fact, she gets glared at by women her age as well, lol. guess it has a lot to do with insecurity. i get it, i'll probably hate to see many wrinkles on my face as well when i get older, but it is part of life. you were young once too. there is no reason to be bitter to young people just because you lost your youth. just be proud and happy that you lived this long, when some of the pretty young things these women glare at may not even get to live as long as them. you never know. i would be happy to be 50. i would see it as an accomplishment. as long as i am healthy and happy.

it is quite sad to find out that some men devalue older women so much. you're never going to be young forever. perhaps some gentlemen forget that they ain't the babes they used to be 20 years ago. but it is not just the men, it is also the women. My God, i am not like this, but i see shameless girls my age who go after married men and it disgusts me. why try to ruin a family's life? i guess i partially answered my own question. still, though, i will not be this way when i get past 35. not every 20 something-year-old woman is a home wrecker. the joy of living in a society inundated by prejudice and discrimination.
