Why are women with super long hair more likely to be conservative and women with short hair liberal?

Because girls have traditionally had their hair longer than guys did hence why the conservatives do it, because they prefer the old way of thinking. More liberal women have the super short haircut as a way to "dismantle gender norms" and as long hair is associated with femininity, more liberal women want to cut their hair short to combat this.

Best answer. I was about to say the same thing. Most women with short hair wouldn't give a rats behind about you. Though, not all short-haired women are like that. I say is about attitude, culture and value systems.

Cutting your hair short is considered a sign of liberation. So a lot more liberal women are into it. I see a lot of people on here saying it's just a stereotype. Statistically this holds a lot of truth though. Remember, stereotypes are a generalized observation. So they usually are or were more or less true at some point.

Don't think that is the case. But should it be in any one place or over a larger area of some degree, it might be because long hair is the more conservative look for women to look feminine, and really short hair is the most basic act of "revolt".

I don't think they are? I used to have very long hair, then very short hair, and now I want it longer again. Don't feel like I was/am mote conservative or liberal in different periods of time that somehow matches my hairstyle decisions

Traditionally, women would have long hair.

liberals always want to be "progressive" so they cut it short to go against tradition. They want to be seen as rebels or "against the patriarchy" so they go against what was normal before.

Conservatives don't mind so usually choose what they want and because of tradition that's usually more long and straight.

Maybe it’s different where you live, but from what I’ve seen conservative women often have mid-length hair and liberal women have a lot of variation in length. It can be anywhere from really long to really short.
