Why do women where heels that make them 4-6 inches taller, then crouch in photographs?

My guess is that what they're doing is all trying to be respectful of the girls around and behind them, so that no one gets left out of the photo. I don't think crouching accomplishes anything to improve the way they look/more flattering overall. It's for the benefit of the others.

I would think the crouching is to make the whole group a more similar size but lots of women do not do this.
Also, we WEAR heels, not "where".
