Would you impregnate a girl with no strings, she just wanted a baby?

Recently talked to a girl who wants a baby so badly that she just wants a guy to volunteer to impregnate her. No child support, no parental duties, no nothing. I'm not sure how I feel about it. What are your thoughts.

It’s a pretty bad idea, the cost involved to have all parental rights and responsibilities legally absolved would be significant and realistically until you’ve had kids of your own you don’t know how you’ll feel having your DNA out there but not in your care. Its so easy to say it doesn’t matter until it’s a reality

We had to do several rounds of IVF before I fell pregnant, but during that process we donated an embryo to a couple in need. I’ve never thought DNA matters, good parents are good parents and a child being well cared for is all that matters... but after being a mother myself my heart does ache a little knowing there is a little piece of us out there not in our care. Not enough to regret it or want differently for that baby - but it’s not an easy feeling to live with and I’m not sure I would have done it knowing how I feel now

Better safe than sorry. She could come back in a few years regretting her decision and coming after you for child support. It's not worth in my opinion. Don't underestimate how crazy some people, especially women, can be.

@mistixs I think she means crazier like emotionally. Though men statisticaly commit more crimes and such, they are usually more rational/stable. Women's constantly fluctuating hormones can make them pretty unpredictable. My ex for example was the biggest sweetheart ever but depending on the time of the month she could be depressed, angry, or outright bitchy for no apparent reason.

@mistixs And as for the majority of emotionally unstable people in the world (which was her whole point) women have men beat. Women attempt suicide for example far more often than men. Men succeed in it more than women. Women do it for emotional reason, for attention. Men usually do it because they actually want to take their lives.

@mistixs They are not in the same category. Men statistically commit more crimes but they are also statistically the richest and most successful people. They are also most of the world's leaders. I could go on with a lot of great things that emphasize their rationality and stability but I'm sure you get my point.

It doesn't matter what she says about not wanting child support from you. As soon as she applies for any type of government assistance, the state will pursue you for child support.

Besides. . . why would you want to father a child who is not going to have a father in her life? Is that what you would want for your child?

Not without consulting a family practice lawyer. "No child support?" You definitely need a signed agreement for your protection. I am NOT A LAWYER, but my understanding is that child support is an obligation to the child that is paid to the custodial parent.

A: I wouldn't do it for ethical reasons.

B: Legally, this is BS. The child can come demand 18-20 years (or lifetime) back child support in the future. The mother actually -cannot- waive the right to child support. Sure, she says no support now. She might change her mind if he becomes wealthy, or if her financial situation changes, or if the child ends up having a disability and needs lifetime support.

What happens a year later when she decides she doesn't want to be a single parent and comes after you for child support?

My suggestion is to just not do it. If she really wanted a baby then she would get a sperm donor from a spermbank or adopt. However, if you really want to do it, get a lawyer, make her sign a contract voiding you of all parental responsibilities.
