What Girls Said
In my opinion, there are two sides of the "sweet guy" coin. (I know how I feel about sweet guys, but right now I'm describing how other women might be using the word).
My man is thoughtful and kind and takes the time to make me feel special. He'll make a little, caring gesture, and I will exclaim, "Awww! You're so sweet to me!" And by this, I mean, "You have totally charmed and thrilled me by doing this, and you make me so happy! I love you so much!!!" My man is a total manly man, big muscles, strong protective side and all, and my calling him "sweet" in no way emasculates him. I believe he is the perfect sensitive and strong combination all the ladies want, and he knows he's been successful in putting a smile on my face when I say, "You're so sweet!"
Now: the other side of the "sweet guy" phrase. In this usage, the scenario might be that a guy is interested in a girl, but the girl does not return that interest. So when he (for example) offers to walk her across campus, she might say, "Awww, that's sweet, but I can make it on my own!" Or you ask her out, and she'll say, "Joe, you're a real sweet guy, but... xyz (whatever reason she can't)"
See how there's an idea of "you're sweet" BUT? In this case, it's a little like throwing a dog a bone to placate it, to smooth the way for rejection.
Here's a litmus test: if a girl says this to you and you feel proud or appreciated,
"sweet" is good! But if she says it and suddenly you feel like a little kid or puppy dog that's just been condescendingly patted on the head and dismissed, "sweet" is not so good.
Hope this helps!Mehhh, I kinda like a guy that tells me what to do, like if you get a sense of what I’m talking about. I don’t want a soft guy, but I don’t want a guy that is overly aggressive. I want a dominant guy tho, one that puts me in my place sexually. It’s kinda hard to explain man 🤦🏻♀️.
I think their appealing but at the same time, it's a bit annoying just because if other girls think that he's advancing on them even though he's not, then that's when he has to step up his game. But other than that, I'd totally appreciate him for being a sweetheart. :) We need more guys like that in society.
I like guys that are sweet. And I mean I have no desire to be with a guy who is rude/mean. Sweet is good. Clingy and constant compliments is annoying. But the sweetness of a guy doesn't determine whether I find them 'soft'. I think soft guys in my opinion are the ones that can't stand up for themselves, and I think that is often more judged by appearance, even though that sounds bad. I don't know if this was helpful. But if that's a picture of you I don't see how you should have any trouble..
They can be appealing and they're definitely not soft.
Being sweet doesn't necessarily you soft unless you go overboard and people take full advantage of it.
It's a great social trait to have, to be honest. Just in care.sweet guys are great, sweet != soft, but they often do go hand in hand. It's interesting because soft can mean many things. I define soft as inability to deal with adversity or pressure of any kind, which is something that can be learned.
Sweet guys are always cute and appealing! If you do get turned down it might be because the girl already has a crush or isn't interested in a relationship, because otherwise sweet guys are just good people.
I like them, but personally prefer a more rugged sort of guy.
Sweet guys who are also immensely quick witted and sharp are like the best of both worlds though.mature women want sweet guys for non sweet guys are bullies who - hit us and treat us like we are their slaves - ! good by to bullies and hello to sweet guys ! thanks
Is that picture of you? If so your really hot 😍😂. I’m not very keen on the manly toxic masculinity type guy. I prefer the type of men that will willing chill out with a nice hot bath and a lush bath bomb 😂
