The answer is a general no. It's the stuck up people male or female you have to watch out for. I watch anime. But I am somebody who is more of a casual fan who loves the old time amines and some new ones. I collect my favs, but is not an obsessed fan. I believe like with anything else, when it's questioning morals like hentai which is anime porn, or being obsessed to the point you don't want to be in a real serious relationship. You just want the sex basically. That's what any female would hate. Same with gaming. As long as you have a normal functioning life that doesn't resolve around it. If it takes up more than 60% of your your life, then it's a major problem. Especially if your a NEET or recluse.
Girls likes games and similar things that are nerdy. Some people, mainly guys, just haven't accepted it or think it's 'real' yet. No, we don't claim to have played them just to impress you, it's something we enjoy just as you. Has guys question me when I say I play games, it's kinda annoying.
However, girls who do not game may have an bad image of games and anime etc. Because they've dated a boy who's main hobby was gaming, they felt they didn't get enough attention and thus despise them and people who use them. I've had such girl friends in the past
Girls from my generation usually seriously dislike any games and get angry when the guy plays them, even if she is off doing something else. And they also get angry that he wastes $60 of his own money on it, but is fine with her spending $400 on a tiny crappy looking purse that looks worse than a $20 Kmart one. lol
But the younger ones seem to enjoy gaming and usually don't get angry at the guy for enjoying them.
That has been what I have noticed anyways.
Not in my experience. There's a few who jump on the hate-everything-guys-do bandwagon, but most can really appreciate that you have fun and interesting hobbies. Plus points if you're passionate about it. Just don't be a full on fucking weeb or literal video game addict (actually addicted, meaning you literally only play games all day and do nothing else).
Girls love passion, not obsession.

I will say I am in the minority. I don’t know many females around where I live that like those things.
Me personally, I love playing video games (team PlayStation) and I love anime. I still watch plenty of Western shows and movies too, but I appreciate good anime. However, it seems like every time I tell someone I watch certain anime, they think that’s all I watch and because they think it’s weird, they think I’m weird too without getting to know me. Usually on a date if they find out I like anime, that’s the red flag. So I don’t usually tell people unless they ask and I watch my anime shows and movies in private because I hate having to explain every freaking detail to someone.
In response to the update on your question: I would prefer if a guy I’m interested in actually have interests and stuff he’s into. It means he has a personality. I would rather a guy I’m seeing spend his free time watching anime or playing video games than be screwing 20 other people on the side.
Fair point but I'd assume you would still over all prefer if a guy spent his free time more productively right?
It’s one thing if he’s ALWAYS playing video games and watching anime but it’s another if he actually does productive things but also finds a specific time to relax and do the things he loves. I wouldn’t want him to be too productive to the point to where he’s always stressed out. Mental health is very important and I believe people should always take care of themselves and relax if they feel over worked.
Yeah that makes sense
No. I don't dislike anime or games. However I don't like every anime, just like I don't like every cartoon series or every movie or every TV show. It depends on what's the story about and how much I like the drawing and animation style. About videogames I'm very bad at them and I usually enjoy single player RPGs graphic adventures, puzzles and so.
For a relationship, it's ok to watch anime and play games together I love it, but I just hope that's not all we only do and share.
I used to love anime in my teens and I do consider myself a gamer (although I'm not into multiplayer shooter). My best friend is still a lot into anime and manga and she absolutely loves to play Overwatch xD so I think that I can disagree with you here :P
I actually watch some anime smts but i dont consider myself an otaku at all. Im not a fan or anything, i just like how they are so explicit and go around themes that in our culture are taboo. So i like drama, i like what u dont see everyday and plus i always liked cartoons, some anime are so beautifully drawn.
I like anime and am getting into games. But , I like anime for different reasons than guys. I like romance anime's , slice of life , slice of life with fantasy elements and complete fantasy. My favorite anime's are Re:Zero and princess tutu. Rem is my role model. I enjoy character interactions and the bright colorful aesthetic of anime , guys enjoy the action and narrative depth. The same thing with games , I enjoy the story and colorful setting, I started playing Horizon zero dawn and want to get Bioshock 1 and 2 and Nier.
That entirely depends on the girl - much like guys, we do each have our own hobbies and personalities and interests. Personally, I like anime and games (I don't particularly enjoy shooters though, they're really dull, I prefer strategy) , but not every girl is going to do so, same as not every guy will like that shit.
I like both anime and shooters but I know both men and women who know nothing about it so view it as childish and a waste of time. Just finding someone open enough or with similar interests is the best way to go.
I like gaming have around 200 odd games if not more I've collected over the years, it was cheaper to buy a game to have 50-100 hours of entertainment then it is to do something, I like shooters like gears of War I was never into the platformer type fighting/shooting but never really got onto the anime bandwagon
It depends on the girl. It's not personally my thing, but I know girls who like it.
As long as it doesn't completely consume a guy's life, I don't care too much. I've known a few guys, however, whose entire identities and lives revolved around games, anime, TV, music, etc. and they literally didn't have a life outside of those things, and that would be too much. Just keep it in moderation, at a healthy level.
While I like games (less so Anime), and there’s nothing wrong with being into them, I’m not going to say it’s an attractive thing for anyone to be into.
I find hobbies where you use your hands to make things to be the most attractive.
Consuming entertainment isn’t a skill.
I love both games and anime!
I am a fairy tail fan, your lie in April killed me, and I have wondered what happened to the death note after the end and of course I totally miss Goku and his weird but cool hair.
For games, I like playing strategy and war games, just not too much though
Yes, not all of us. But I'm a sucker for games. As for anime, I'm looking for new ones, and looking for time too :( my 'to watch' list is just growing longer
Its lies. There are some girls who aren't into it, but you definitely need to do some looking. Girls love all of the above and then some!
I love shooters. I'm not as exposed to fighting games, but I like them.
I watch anime myself, as well.
It isn't the content you watch. It's how you interact with others that's more important, at least to me.
at the start i enjoyed the idea of watching anime and playing video games, cause it just sounds super fun, right? But as I grew up I just did not care for such activities. I find real adventure more interesting.
A lot of girls don't like them. I don't hate them but they're not my faves either.
From what I've seen, yes in general. But all people are different, there are girls that like shooters and fighting games/anime.
First off, I'm a girl and I'm very much into both games and anime! Most girls I know are as well.
I dislike anime i don't see the appeal, i enjoy some cartoons just not anime in itself. I love games do
Why is it you dislike it, is it the community, you just dont like the style, or for a different reason?
Not interested in it. I mostly dislike the asthetics of most of it.
What really turns me off about it is the fan community though.
Is it the stereotypical weaboo community that you dislike or just people in general just enjoy it as entertainment?
Or is it games you dont like or both?
I'm generalizing here, obviously. I know that there's such and such. But fact is also that there's a huge overlap between the anime and gaming community and Alt-Right trolls as well as incels.
But it's also that I'm super uninterested in playing video games. I can't imagine wasting hours every day doing that.
So if a guy mentions he plays games or you'd find out he does do you usually assume he does it for hours or just see and find out if he just plays them on some free times?
Knowing if a guy plays video games would that overthrow other things you may have in common with him and will it ruin the relationship?
I meant like for just the fact that he enjoys gaming does it ruin the relationship?
Talking about if a guy is trying to get in a relation ship, would these stuff be an issue
You mean a guy trying to date me? If he tells me he's into video games I'd get wary but I wouldn't assume anything. If I like him and he says he only plays occasionally and is not an active part of the community, I'd give it a try. But any signs of him having "gamergate" attitutes and I'm gone.
Ty for the answer
What a load of shit 😂 there are literally millions of girls who love anime and gaming. Millions. I don't know what idiot told you otherwise, but you should learn who to listen to.
Girls (who don't have a hive-mind, like the Borg of Star Trek) vary. Female-おたく ("otaku"), -nerds, -geeks, and -gamers also exist.
Their prevalence that will vary by region.
Not true. I love video games.
I'm fine with anime.
I'm don't particularly like anime, but I'm currently watching My hero academia. A friend showed it to me and I got hooked. I like a couple of games too.
You might also like sword art online since plenty of girls like fantasy and drama
Dude! It's not ok to just recommend SAO... Really now, y pick one of the shittiest ones out there? It's unhealthy for weeblets to watch that stuff
@PurpleBear14 That would make sense indeed.
I mean if you guys really dislike it that much then check out dr stone or demon slayers which you can't say they're bad unless you will be delusional of the fact that they're top 100 as of right now and keep in mind competing with other huge titles and being in top 100 is crazy good especially that they just came out fresh
Altho I'm surprised by the fact that u 2 went out of your way to say how much you dislike a show that has been popular especially for its first season and its still ongoing
I suggested them because apparently sao offends u and demon slayer is far out ranking vinland saga but I can't say it's bad because I really enjoyed the show but saying its better is also not a good option unless you state it's your personal opinion then it's fine and if your so butthurt about opinions and suggestions I'd suggest getting lube to rub around the butthurt 😁👍
Yo. I have friends who love dr stone and demon slayer but hate SAO. It's not about the theme dude. It's the plot. SAO started good and it got really bad really fast and that's a fact. So what if it was at the top? It's still way too overrated.
Purple I agree sao started good and I actually like season 1 only and the rest of seasons were trash in my opinions especially the gun one
And one other thing. You recommended her SAO based on her gender. Wtf why? Your gender does not make you like or dislikes a type of anime.
It's a more feminine show so it's best assume that it's a better choice for her and dr stone and demon slayer are not super masculine like dbz or naruto which are also good shows and nothing wrong with her being a girl that may or may not like slightly more feminine shows
Then why tf did you even recommend it? You don't just do that. SAO is one of those things that should get buried and the weeblets should only learn about it when they have seen some good anime series first. It's toxic to recommend something like SAO right off the bat.
Anime have genres made specifically for boys or girls and other stuff depending on type of person you are and titles like dbz are heavily shounen and shounen stands for boys
But dude you are assuming her preferences based on her gender! That's what I mean. That is a shit move
Dude all the girls that i know watch anime like shounen what are you talking about?
Purple your weaboo tier is much higher rank that I ever faced so I shall stop talking to you further more because the more I mention the word anime the more you get offended and I'm sorry about this 🙂
If you wanna chat more I'd prefer for less toxicity or dms so it doesn't pile here or else I'll start ignoring
Forget it. I just noticed that your English is really bad too so... Yeah I can't hope for a decent conversation when you obviously can't understand when I am trying to explain where you were wrong. Because at this point it's not about anime. It's about you attitude.
Your* typo
Thank you and my English isn't good because it's not my first language I'm still learning sorry if I misspelled anything
SAO went fine for most of season 1, but there are far better isekai. It went to shit at the end of season and just like @PurpleBear14 said, should be buried tbh. It should definitely not be amongst someone's first anime, at least not anymore. SAO abridged however, that's the literal best version of SAO and I love it to death. Lol
And will you stop with the rankings? They literally do not matter. The only reasons Demon Slayer is ranking higher than Vinland Saga are the ending, really well done fight scenes (which have been rare for mainstream anime up till recently), hype and the fact that less just people have seen Vinland Saga.
I personally enjoyed reading BNHA way more than any anime in 2019 tbh. Maybe with the exception of JoJo's part 5. Lol
It's not my first language ether and I learned it by myself so it's not such a big deal, is it?
Shiver I'm that fast at replying because I care for you and your opinion is valid for me
Huh, I guess I'm just proof reading way too much then. That or just always spacing and tripping balls. I type way faster on PC. Lol
So you two are also not native English speakers? #MeToo Lmao
@PurpleBear14 Thanks, I try. Lol
Note 10 is about the same I feel yeah shiver
It's more about the medium you get used to
I had a Blackberry Torch (also the Motorola look alike, I don't know which came first) back when they were a thing, but I don't like the look of physical keys on a phone. The keys are also always too small for me. I'm really into the sleek design of modern flagships. I do like keyboard cases for tablets tho. I can also just connect my keyboard to my phone with Bluetooth, which I sometimes do just to flex. Lol
@Shiver oh so you have big hands then. if you weren't so exclusive (I even forgot the word I was looking for in german) about the design of a phone I would consider you try the Blackberry Key2. I tested it and the keys are big enough for your Gargoyle hands to work it up. even the screen seems decent even tho it feels more like a phone for workflow/4chan/typing
Lol, my palms aren't even that much bigger than most, it's just my fingers that are really long. It's why most mice are uncomfortable to me.
I guess the Key2 would definitely give me a huge battery and productivity upgrade, but a pretty huge downgrade in everything else. That 4.5" screen got me the most disappointed, ngl.(w8 so does that make me a size queen? Hmmmmmmmm)
There's currently only two phones that I would upgrade to, which are the OnePlus 7T pro and the Google Pixel 4 XL. I'd really hate to give up the screen quality, speakers, S pen and headphone jack, but I'd be willing to do it for these two.
Wtf no
Can y'all stop generalising people based on gender?
It's not people generalising based on gender it's actually a decent chunk if female gender that dislike it based on the pole and answers which is 40% and you're generalising people your self rn by saying"y'all" which makes me assume you might be a troll
Nope, it 75% that say girls don't dislike anime and games.
It is true that guys are more passionate about them and all, but assuming most girls dislike them so much is not ok. It just means that you are searching in the wrong place.
That’s false. Some girls don’t like it they want nothing to do with it. But girls like me enjoy watching anime, reading manga, & playing video games.
I am a gamer and do enjoy some anime, so I guess my answer is No I don't dislike either :)
Its the other way around, girls love anime and/or games (most of them). I've met a few girls that actually love anime and games.
Depends on the person, some guys I know aren't into anime.
Hell I don't even watch the japan cartoons or play video games
I like anime and games. But ofcourse some girls like other things
I personally dont watch them but I have girl friends who do. so its not true. some girls simply like them and some dont.
Um... where's the correct answer of "many yes; some no?" No vote.
No, not at all true, I like games and a few friends do too
Isn't obvious games and anime just aren't made for women and girls
It's made for kids not adults
I love anime! I think it just depends on the girl's personality.
I like animes and games.
HELL NO, ANIME IS THE BEST
Any anime and gaming girls hit me up 😂✌️
Hey stop stealing my spotlight! 😂
Some women might hate it.
No. It's true that SOME girls dislike animae
my girlfriend loves anime
No the girls are into it more the guys
Digitalization has changed this perception
Nope.
Some do, some don't.
I just love anime in general
it's propaganda
I love anime!
I hate anime
