How do I get my mom to stop treating me like a child?

So I’m 21 years old and whenever my mom or I watch a movie like tonight and there’s a woman in lingerie or a bikini she always turns at me and says “you didn’t close your eyes or nothing?” But when I was younger she always put her hands over my eyes when a woman appeared in a bikini or clothing of sort. It’s really annoying she’s treating like this at my age. How do I get her to stop?

Have a conversation with her as an adult and ask her why she treats yo iij like that.

Allow her to voice her reasoning and then look st it from her perspective.

Then ask if she would like your perspective.


If she is closed to the idea if changing because it makes you uncomfortable then ask what would allow her to change?

If she says she won't, then ask her what if you moved out and shower her that she raised a responsible adult that is no longer a child and can take care of herself?

Go from there. I advise to not accuse or get emotional.

Try to see where she is coming from without your "emotional blinders" on.

Be honest. Sit down and talk to her. Set boundaries and expectations while being understanding of her being an older generation and actions coming from love. Be frank and clear. Remind her you love her but you are older and would be happy if she could see that. You are forever her son but just a little bigger. Luck my man.
