Girls, What is the usual reason girls refuse to give a number but offer a form of social media like instagram?

I'm not talking about when a guy keeps asking for different forms of communication. I'm talking about when a girl just offers it on her own.

To be honest... I am not sure... if I don't trust the person I would definitely rather give out my Instagram account than my number, because it is less personal. If the person is kinda creepy afterwards it's easy to block him/her on Instagram for example... it's much more difficult to get a new number, 😅

i really dont know but i think its because we feel safer or at least i feel safer not giving a number cause a number can be used to gathere personal info like their adress and other things while an instagram can't give out that info but ya i think thats why i would give out a soicial and not my number
