Why are women always attracted to taken men?

I asked a question the other day about a girl in high school who I accidently broke the heart of one night after hitting on her friend on MySpace (the social network that was big before FB, Twitter and Instagram)

so now I that I went back even deeper I remember that I was always an invisible loser back in high school. however when I broke that girl's heart I became some sort of underground celebrity. when I went back to school the following day all of the girl's bff used to look at me like the girls above.

• some use to go as far as smiling and giggling.
• I remember there were at least 2 who used to look give me a drooling look as if they wanted to fuck me or something.

of course it never ended in high school. I always noticed that whenever I would go to a party or any social venues with my ex women used to stare at me from all direction. compared to how invisible I looked when I was alone and single. even when it came to dancing, if I was sitting minding my own business or dancing on my own no women would pay mind to me. but the minute I asked a girl to come dance with me and she gave the green light I would become the center of attention.

till then I have male friends and relatives who complained about having the same experiences as me. so I always wondered, why are women attracted to men who are already taken but ignore free and single men?

I had a similar thing. The five years I was single I only had two guys chase me and they did it for academic reasons and not because they liked me. When I got a guy, I had 5 guys chase me in one month. I think it has to do with your level of confidence and perceived attractiveness. When I leave the house believing I’m attractive and desirable and I am alone in a public place - I get hit on. When I leave the house believing I’m ugly - guys ignore me. During the years where I was prettiest on the outside, I had the least romantic interest from guys cause I was full of self hatred inside. When I was less beautiful but more confident I got hit on every week and sometimes day.

While I agree with this, I actually see it happens to both genders. However, I feel like men and women have different motives on why they want to “steal” taken people. For women, they see taken men as someone who is responsible, mature and loving. They assume if this guy has a girlfriend or wife, means he surely possess some good qualities that make those women commit to them.
As for the men, I have notice a large number of them doing it just for ego-boost, to “colonise” the other men’s territory gives them power when they don’t really have anything to do with the other men’s gfs/wives. The intention is to make the other men look like a loser for not being able to make their partner stay loyal. I know a lot of men who even bragged about how they get to bang some other men’s gfs/wives without guilt.

My point is, women get involved with taken/married men because they see a future in him since him having a wife and being a dad to his children is one of the criteria that many women are looking for. Meanwhile, men get involved with someone’s wife 🤷🏻‍♀️ We all know why.

When a man is with a girl of high sexual market value (high status) other women want to see if they can exceed that girls SMV and try to compete for the man and his resources. I've noticed this many times in my life aswel. I tend to get women more interested whenever they find out I'm in a relationship. And this is not even a selffulfilling prophecy. Even when two girls happened to like me at the same time, they started to fight for my attention even more.

The psychology is simple: If he can attract that pretty girl, that means he has something of value to give. And I want that aswel. This is of course on a subconscious level.

There are two aspects to this- the first one is that a single guy is usually perceived by women as being unattached because he is in some way inadequate, and that isn't desirable to most women because their expectations are high, plus they think "if no other woman wants him, he must not be good enough for me". The simplest answer is about status. Higher status males attract more females, and if other females (at least one) find you attractive, it means you're probably higher status.
Secondly, men get much more confident when they are in a relationship, which is super attractive.

It's called Pre Selection , meaning if another woman has chosen you , you may have , & be perceived as having more value than a completely single man. Also, if they are single, they might try to make a good impression on women, and even if they seem confident, their body language and facial expressions might signal insecurity. the point is that my personal experience debunks your logic on people wanting something just because they see other people having it. if this was the case then I would of own a PlayStation 1 just like everyone else. but instead I chose Nintendo 64 because I thought it had better games to play and I trusted the brand better.
