No Contact Rule - Am I doing the right thing ignoring my friend after she rejected me?

I’ve been close to this girl for the past year. I really have feelings for her. She used me as her cushion during her time in need. I guess she’s taken me for granted.

Last week she rejected me after I asked her out. Since then I’ve been ignoring her because I feel embarrassed and every time I’ve walked past her she’s looked up to see whether I acknowledge her.

I heard from a friend she was really emotional today.

I don’t know what to do.

If you're doing it to get her to change her mind then it's doomed to fail. The best that you will get is a reaction from her to losing a friend. It's not going to make her want to date you.

Be honest with yourself, if she took advantage it's only because you were happy to let that happen. She didn't make you be her shoulder to cry on, you offered that and accepted it. Then again, why wouldn't you? That's what friends do. If you wanted to be more than friends then that's not her fault. You should have been clear from the beginning.

Here's the sad truth. Some women will take advantage of guys who they're not interested in.
She obviously broke it off with you and even if she values your friendship. You need to heal. And that will only happen if you stop talking to her.
Its okay to drop women who break your heart, even if they're your friends.
Respect yourself and take some time to get over her. But do it away from her.
