Girl I'm dating is considerably 'quieter' when we're in public?

When we're alone, she's very affectionate. She'll cuddle up to me and stuff.

However in public, or in a group setting, not so much.

She has told me she doesn't like PDA and that she's anxious, so that's probably it.

She has shown me affection in group settings, like resting her legs on my thighs, coming close to me...

Maybe it's just the not liking PDA. What do you guys think?

Why not respect her decision that PDA isn’t her thing? Sometimes couples take PDA too far and it becomes awkward.

I'm not annoyed or frustrated, let me get that out the way. I totally respect the fact she doesn't like PDA, and to be perfectly frank, I don't like it either. I think it's truly unnecessary to be kissing, hugging and stuff in public, when it's so much nicer to do it at home and in private.

I'm just wondering if not liking PDA is linked to her anxiety... because I would feel anxious about it too.

It could be linked to it, but I don’t think it really matters she expressed that she’s uncomfortable with it and in my opinion looking more into it with the fact she has anxiety isn’t necessary. I do have social anxiety myself and I think seeing couples kiss at restaurant tables and make out is cringe worthy. I’m a waitress and I think it’s even more gross when they do it when I’m at their table trying to take an order from them
