WHY DO YOU PAINT YOUR NAILS?

Im not sure why but my group of friends and i had been talking about this. Why do you paint your nails? Honestly.

I think the colors are fun. I like bright, silly colors and patterns. I always do a base coat, then some color - however many coats it takes to look nice, then either some glitter polish or nail stickers, and then a top coat. It's a way to change up your appearance, and it lasts for longer than a day, but it isn't so permanent as something like a tattoo. Plus, for me it has the added bonus of keeping me from biting my nails.

My wife says it's because she likes the way it looks and it's part of her self care routine.
