Why someone is trying to test a woman.. and playing games?

The two main reasons that spring to mind are:

1) Because of low self esteem. Testing the other person is a way to achieve validation (Until they get fed up)
2) Because the guy in question is a git that enjoys hurting women for his own pleasure.

He is a jerk. Some guys are so damaged by things other girls did to them and they could be jerks with people that dont even deserve it.
