Think about it this way, if guys were to ask what is Masculine or what is masculine behaviour, what would the answer be? Well answers vary, different girls give different answers. They *intuitively* know what masculine is, when they see masculine behaviour they know, they read masculine behaviour in romance novels they know. They intuitively know but find it difficult to put it in words.
Same for what's feminine. When we see feminine behaviour we intuitively and subconsciously know. We find it attractive and desirable. We can see for example, generally any place that is influenced by feminism women are less feminine. Same way you can see many lesbians are less feminine, many even make themselves less feminine so they'll get less attention from men. We can intuitively tell what is feminine and what's not. I've read about French women for example, French women being called very feminine by men, in sharp contrast to many British or American women.
Its said 70% of communication is non-verbal. So what's masculine or feminine most of it is also conveyed non-verbally. I guess what's inside is expressed through their behaviour and demeanor.
That's not to say we can't distinguish or point to certain behaviours that might be masculine or feminine. Having shoulder pads is clearly masculine, feminine voice automatically conveys femininity, how they move their body or carry themselves, general style, being more sensual, being able to cook (sure both genders should, but when girls cook for them, guys not only find it appealing but also feminine). It also doesn't mean being submissive or not being assertive.
You'd better off cultivating femininity from inside instead of trying to mimic certain behaviours. Once you're in touch with your femininity from inside it'll automatically be conveyed from outside.33 Reply

Ask most modern guys what feminine means and they won't even know what it means. They will tell you
"paint your nails, wear pretty dresses, be cute, make your breasts bigger, always only wear high heels"
To me femininity is more about mental than physical.
Someone that is above average in understanding others, empathetic, slow to anger , does not seek revenge on others, knows how to forgive, but it doesn't mean she's a push over, knows to cut off toxic people rather than to argue with them, associates herself with kind people.435 Reply- +1 y
I'm not sure what you mean here but I guess you right to some extent, guys who try too hard or try to be cocky, fit into that description. In case of your friends I guess you could help them, I certainly would appreciate if my friend helped me. I'm guessing they're just hesitant due to current climate, them getting mixed messages, feminism and wokeness etc.

But we live in a very gender neutral society where the children are not raised to know exactly what masculinity or Feminity is like. Modern men do not know what feminity is like. Their idea of feminity is a woman who always wears dresses and heels and talks in a really high pitched voice.
While masculinity is seen as guys with huge muscles , ride motorcycles , work as construction workers , alphas. Actually most guys don’t even know what an alpha really is like. They might see him as “the big bully “ or someone who is controlling.

I'm not sure why you keep saying this but men do know, otherwise how would they immediately be able to distinguish who is feminine or not. Men do know femininity is more than physical and they do appreciate it. What specifically is it that men wouldn't know in regards to non-physical cues of femininity, when it is still portrayed in any media targeted at men. When men travel they can immediately tell women in these countries are more feminine compared to American women even if they are not dolled up.
Same women can immediately tell which characters are masculine in romance novels.
I would say Femininity and Masculinity is not taught per se, but rather absorbed from our environment. As you say gender neutrality is being enforced to some extent that's one reason, there are other reasons too, for example men playing games all day. - +1 y

In our modern world, very few women are mentally feminine. Just as very few men are mentally masculine. This stuff is simply NOT taught in our upbringing.
If we knew how to behave femininely and masculinely , I believe that there would be Much much more feminine women and Much much masculine men out there.
It’s the simple fact that women do not know how to be mentally feminine and men do not know how to be mentally masculine.

Nobody cares about a feminine woman unless she is dressed femininely. feminity is no longer about being kind , nurturing , empathetic as it once was during the 1950s. 70% of feminity boils down to appearance.
But quite honestly being feminine is not a way to survive in the real world. America is a country where both women and men have to work in order to survive. In order to succeed , we need to be assertive , keep on top of our work, always strive to be the best , We need to fight for a raise.
In other countries , women are More feminine because they don’t have to strive for anything. Women expected to do nothing but become stay home Wives and suffer Life under poverty. Expect husbands to pay for their every meal. If her husband is poor, she will have a miserable life. Women are not expected to work in many Other countries. Even if she did work, it’s not a survivable wage.
We as Americans have the luxury to celebrate stay home wives or women not having to work. But in Bangladesh , Mumbai, Parts of China , Korea , Middle East there are many women who only wished they had the same rights to an education and career as American women, - +1 y

Patriarchy rules in these countries. The only way for a Woman to get out of poverty was to marry a rich man. Women were not expected to go to school. If her poor family somehow did manage to pay for her school , she usually never reaches a college education.

That's EXACTLY my point. Its non-verbal, its in our body language. But when we see it we immediately recognize it, men can immediately tell when she is Feminine, women can immediately tell when he is Masculine.
When women read a romance novel they can immediately tell which character is Masculine yet not even see it displayed.
We can see it in lesbians - men can easily distinguish when lesbians are butch or simply less feminine. If such ABILITY did not exist in men they would not be able to do that. Just because they can't *precisely* describe which precise criteria is feminine - doesn't mean they can't tell when its displayed - its INTUITIVE.
No one has been able to describe, detail or teach CHARISMA, yet we can immediately tell who is charismatic.

Not sure what you mean by everything here First men care A LOT about non-physical femininity that's what they complain about it, and I am not clear what relation it would have to women staying at home or being reliant on men.
A woman can be dressed casually yet still be very feminine, through her body language and demeanor, how she talks how she carries herself. Its INTUITIVE. Same way she can be dressed, put in a lot of effort yet not be that feminine.
I think you might be making a point here. That reason women are less feminine is because they don't feel the need to? I guess I can agree with that - feminism, welfare state, being able to take half after divorce, women being bale to work and not be reliant on men - yes I do agree that could be some of the reasons.

American men DON'T refer to submissive women as feminine AT ALL. Even in past they didn't. Just because they didn't have gender equality doesn't mean they were submissive. On the contrary most men today would find it a turn off women being submissive (I am saying this outside context of BDSM).
Submissiveness has no correlation at all. Countries in East Europe, countries like South Korea, countries in South America - even women are getting more and more rights, those countries are striving for gender equality, more and more women are working, women are leaders. Yet they are NOT submissive and yet very feminine.
Female Led Relationships are gaining traction, there are men who want women to take the lead. Yet despite these women being dominant they can be very feminine, even country like Russia you can see FLR. BDSM ie Femdom, dominatrix or mistresses obviously are *dominant* yet she can be very feminine. That's what many of these guys desire, and that's how they present themselves.

The point that men and women don't know what Feminine or Masculine is immediately flawed. Overwhelming majority of men and women would completely disagree with you. Otherwise this question would not exist.
The issue is you've still not given us any *concrete* or *substantive* reason. Which precisely ties and explains why you seem to have better understanding of what Masculine or Feminism is - in contrast to all other men and women.
What precisely or how precisely men and women don't know? Like I said we can immediately tell INTUITIVELY what Masculine or Feminine is. If you are saying NO, everyone else is wrong and I am right - then what precisely is the reasoning this logic is based on?
So from my understanding you perspective is based on 2 things, and I'd try keep it simple :)
1) Men can't tell non-physical femininity

I've already touched on submissiveness, somebody like me would be completely turned of from submissive personality. Yet there are many women that have strong personalities, not submissive at all, are managers and CEOS - yet very feminine.

In terms of appearance, again its not true. Men intuitively pick up on non-physical femininity, physical they can see. At nightout girls are doll'd up, yet men can immediately see many of them are not feminine and would point to that. There is no shortage of ladettes in London who are dressed and look great. Same way a girl could be casually dressed and guys immediately be able to tell she is feminine.
If all it took was women being submissive and dressing up, then American men or other men would not be saying American women are less feminine. Countries like Spain, France or Italy etc above criteria is not met, yet women are considered feminine and desirable. Being submissive or acting submissive would not make a butch lesbian feminine. Negating submissiveness and mere physical appearance as any correlation with femininity.

Women are offered The chance to attend college But they are rarely ever hired by large prestigious companies. The employers have such a huge preference for men which left college educated women doing jobs that they are wayy over qualified for. The only jobs that women could obtain in South Korea with ease without gender discrimination are nursing , teaching , cleaning. And as soon as these women are married , they are expected to give up their careers to become stay home wives REGARDLESS if they like it or not.

I have been on soo many dates with all sorts of men, I can tell you for sure that men do not care about how “mentally “ feminine a woman is.
The thing he cares about the most is that she looks feminine such as short Petite stature , curves , beauty , the way she dresses. If she accomplishes these things , No man will care how mentally feminine or masculine she is.

Masculine men like to take the lead in a relationship. They tend to be the ones who initiate hand holding, first kiss , asking out on date. All men have some sort of masculine energy inside of them even if they are beta males. Feminity is the willingness to sit back and receive and enjoy the experience. You can’t have two people fighting over to lead in the relationship. If one leads , the other one must sit back. You can’t have two people leading.

Feminity is passiveness, more emotional than analytical. Masculinity is taking action , assertiveness, goal oriented , analytical rather than emotional.
This is why feminity has no place in the workplace. You can’t be passive and slow to act in the competitive work force. This is why there are more men in management than women. According to a study , men were much more willing to ask for a promotion than women. Men were also more willing to act on taking risks than women.

Men can have intuition and charisma. Women tend to have better intuitions because they are more sensitive but it does not mean that its uncommon for men to have intuitions. Most people do not have charisma. And I have seen plenty of men with charisma. Actually there are more funny men than women. If everyone knew what femininity or masculinity was, then why is it so hard for people to know how to act with masculinity or femininity? Why are so many of us acting so gender neutral?

Life is a ceaseless competition. I spend my week competing with people at work who are trying their damnedest to make me lose my job so they can have it. My boss, is bending over backward trying to find reasons to fire me so he can buy his third house. Gotta keep the house in top spec, because neighbors will denigrate my status and character otherwise. Gotta keep up the progress on my projects lest my peers advance beyond me and view me as inferior for it. Keep my body and mind in shape, because people will try to abuse me if I'm not toned and sharp.

This was an interesting read.
I'm the type to get bored out of my mind if I'm not constantly honing myself to be better at skills/crafts/talents/jobs/games, so the idea of hating competition because of the effort involved is alien to me, and I find myself more often complaining about things being too easy and thus boring.
When I'm not challenged or being creative my mind feels like it's breaking down, like if I don't do something stimulating and challenging it will decay and die and all I will have in my head is calm emptiness, which I get some people find meditatively soothing, but it drives me up a wall.
I wonder why some people prefer to relax and others hate it.
Being classy, elegant, and having self-respect.

I think that women should have the right to work careers. Its unfair how men get to work careers while women can't. Women have right to shine and discover their talents too.
