As far as I know males have more high IQ as well as low IQ members than women. Most geniuses as well as retards are men. On average, women are more average.

It doesn't mean women are necessarily "less" or there are no women with high IQ (consider this too that intelligence has types). And I don't unserstand why men and women should be competing and putting each other down in the process, instead of accepting each other and cooperating.

The Gaussian distributions breaks down at sigmas 2 and greater (standard deviations). My IQ is between 144-180 according to the WISC-IV, but it's certainly not something you want to run around boasting about. It causes more harm then good. Well, not exactly if it is used by experts and in the right context and discourse. And yes I think it is well known above 2SD the reliability of the concept of general intelligence breaks down. Ultra-high cognitive abilities tend to be specialized. Still, I haven't met a psychologist who would consider the concept completely useless or invalid.

But yeah, it is definitely not a concept someone who is doing tasks that are very taxing on his brain would constantly think about or even care about, unless he's researching that subject. And it is definitely stupid when it is used in a political and social context about power and superiority. That includes questions such as this one.

Maybe I failed to get my message across. My point was that whatever the bell curves show, it is useless to think about it to feel either superior or inferior especially when what you need is cooperation in spite of your differences. Also that in my personal experience, people who are bright or gifted don't care for extremist nonsense, and don't fight for their rights by name calling and constantly claiming superior or victim status (or both). My vote is based around a number of things..
All male outings / sporting events / end of season trips are utterly operant to me , any amount of males together , this also extends to business..
I was instrumental in getting a number of women into a workplace I ran , and it changed the dynamic for the better like you wouldn't believe , I got this company moving forward , progressively , kicking and screaming into the " Now " , 20 years forward in 3 months.

Only in certain ways. Sure it seems we usually hold the keys to the sex cabinet, but men are built bigger and stronger than us. That can be intimidating and scary in some situations. Men still make more money than women. In pregnancy the woman is always saddled with the baby and sometimes the man doesn’t step up. So no, as a whole, one gender is not superior over the other.

I can tell you from my recent grad application, many schools in engineering and medicine have lowered the GPA requirement to enter undergrad and graduate school. Moreover, many colleges don't require GRE or SAT scores. And have lowered the prerequisite classes to apply to school. I can tell you many of the engineering schools in CA that I looked at require undergrad and graduate GPAs of 1.8 and 1.9 respectively. When I went to university over 20 years ago, it was required and expected that you have a minimum GPA of 3.5 upon entrance for undergrad. I can also tell you that Pearlman Medical School at UPENN in Philadelphia takes into consideration an applicant's sex and race and is a deciding factor in acceptance/rejection.

Now aside from what I have witnessed over the last 2 decades, look at the military. They have lowered the aptitude and physical requirements for women and minorities not only to be inducted, but within the military they have lowered the standards so much that at this point our fighting force is a joke.

@TDD the reason why the fitness test in the military was lowered was because of law makers who thought it was unfair for women to be evaluated the same as men.

The reason why I used the graduation as an example was to show how women are actively seeking to become more educated, of course going to school doesn’t inherently mean you’re more intelligent but the fact that more women are starting to receive and education is important especially since statistically no matter the gender their are inherent benefits from getting a college education. (Many studies showing how poorer students benefit the most from getting a college education)

Also the reason why some colleges aren’t looking at stuff like GRE’S and SAT’s is to give applicants that might for example, have an undergraduate GRE on the lower end of the scale.

If an applicant doesn’t include a GRE score they still have to make sure their application and supporting materials are highly competitive otherwise.

Same goes for SAT’s, in general weather a school reauires or doesn’t require SAT or GRE’S it depends on what the schools values are and what they want to find in a potential student most.

Not only that but most colleges require them, so it’s not like all these colleges are just not requiring them anymore. Even though there’s an upward trend of more test optional schools It’s highly unlikely that someones entire college list contains only test-optional colleges.

Your evidence Is from a book published in 2011, I’m unable to find any free excepts of it but I was able to find a similar article/study done by the guy that’s about group differences in intelligence. His position in this article doesn’t support your claims, one paragraph in it states “It is also well known that IQ scores are more
variable in males than in females, leading to an excess of males
over females at both the high and low ends of the distribution” meaning at the time the IQ for males was inconsistent as compared to the IQ of women.

Either way, these are from 2006. A study from 2006 isn’t going to hold up whatsoever by today’s standards as its over a decade ago?
