Was I scammed did I treat this the right way?

A lady told me she is selling me authentic shoes when i got them they are not authentic I reported her to fb marketplace. Ofc she blocked me i have reached out from another account i told her listen i see u are a mom and life is tough I don’t blame u can we meet and ill return the sandals and get my money. I really don’t want to make a report to “consumer rights” or the police about u. So if u are willing to resolve this let me know. I honestly am just a broke uni girl i do not wanna report her i would feel bad but i do want my money what y’all think is right to do genuinely advice me.

its a person to person sale. Not from a company, nor retailer, Meaning you literally have no rights here.. you can report her all you like but literally nothing will happen.

There are consumer rights according to the fb marketplace agreement so I don't know where u got ur info from

yes true but she committed no crime. She misrepresented a product, Sure, But its not crime for an individual to do that. Only retailers. Sure report her to face book, But the police will do nothing.. Source, I've been using the market place for many years..

So to go back through this. Yeah you can make her lose her FB privileges for a short time. But legally you have no legs to stand on, unless you go to small claims court. And even then the cost of doing that would FAR out weigh the cost of the shoes or what ever it was you bought from her.

For example, i sold a computer on he market place. i wanted 200 bucks for it. I got a buyer, he showed me he had 200 dollars. He counted it in front of me. I turned it on for him to show him it does indeed work.. I work in IT, my reputation is VERY important to me.. When he shorted me 60 dollars, and i confronted him about it, he blocked me. I reported it to facebook, Nothing happened. I contacted the local authorities, I was told to take it to civil court because no crime had been committed.

So yeah you can report her, but she will see no jail time, you cannot force her to refund her, You cannot do anything else..
