Women & men, what do you mean by these actions by a woman towards a man? Interested in him?

1. Looking at a man and then looking away when he looks up and catches her.

2. Looking at a man and smiling when he looks up at her

3. Looking at a man in general, without him noticing. People tell the man that the woman was “looking at him/checking him out”

Yeah, I’d say she’s interested/likes him/finds him attractive

No, I wouldn’t say she’s interested/likes him/finds him attractive

These were 3 separate events with different women, NOT the same woman.

"1. Looking at a man and then looking away when he looks up and catches her." This COULD mean that she likes you, but she also could have been looking because she thinks you look weird. She is probably shy and a bit self-conscious.

"2. Looking at a man and smiling when he looks up at her" This is a bit of a stronger sign of interest and also a sign of a woman with more confidence and assertiveness.

"3. Looking at a man in general, without him noticing. People tell the man that the woman was 'looking at him/checking him out'" If other people say she was checking you out, and if they are being sincere in reporting their assessment, then this is the strongest sign of interest.

It could just be by accident. Doesn’t always mean something. I day dream a lot and don’t realize in what direction annnnd sometimes someone turns around and I turn away quickly cause it just feels weird and I think ah shit hope they don’t think I was checkin them out cause literally wasn’t xP

Why is it that every time I ask a question like this the women say these are never signs a woman is interested.

Yet, whenever I look up dating sites, forums, blogs, or articles they describe the above as a woman being interested in a man more times than not.

Sometimes they're right. We do look, smile and blush if we like someone. But thats not a sure fire way to know that someone likes you.

In my experience I wouldn't say more often than not. I randomly stare at people more than I stare at people I find attractive

Sometimes i get caught looking by mistake, but it's not because i'm interested, and then yes I look away fast because it's creepy lol.
But if I SMILE AT HIM, that might be some sign of interest.
