Why do women coddle men so much and then complain if they accept it?

If a man has a slight cough his wife or girlfriend will be all over him and insist that he rest and want to take care of him but then complain about him acting like a baby. Why do they even bother in the first place if they're just going to complain?

Lol I think it depends on the girl.
And the their personality.
Also is the girl really "complaining" or is she jesting, flirting or making light during a rough time. Though I know there are some people with that sort of personality who offer help and then complain later after giving it but that gender neutral anyone man or woman can be like that.

I've Coddled my man and sometimes I tease and baby talk him but usually when I'm baby talking him saying things such as "Awe poor baby" or " awe your such a big baby" or "awe my baby needs hugs and kisses" (perhaps it could be seen as belittling by some but that's not the intent especially when I do the following) as I speak I smother him in kisses as I run my fingers through his hair and bury his face in my tits... Then depending on how's he's feeling (if it's really bad I might not) I'll tease him and may ask or say something like "does my baby need to be 'nursed' 😈😘"

My teasing which I suppose could be taken for complaining... but honestly I've never had a man indicate that he took it that way... Is me just flirting and trying to love on him. I usually get a sheepish look a raise of the eyebrow a smirk but never a scowl. And usually I get squeezed in return and the guy buries his face deeper into my breast sometimes placing kisses or suckling at my flesh.

My roommate brother was sick and I took care of him for a week. That I did all the chores in the apartment and got 2-4 hours of sleep on the couch. Also got up and did the shopping errands for us and for my mom.

Each of my parents needed my help with physical labor too and shopping errands. After my brother got better. My mom started to get sick, that my job was not done. I kept swallowing different pills 💊 and vitamins to build up my immune system. So that I could stay strong for my family. It began to wear out 😓 and I developed body aches and cramps. I was emotionally angry and sad for being in pain.

LOL... yeah. This happens sometimes. My current partner is supportive but doesn't make fun of me later. But it happens. Some women (not all, not generalizing) are critical in general and will make comments or make fun of their partner regularly. I find that these are the kind that tend to do this complaining. I don't like women / relationships where its based on both partners making fun of each other and sort of insulting each other. A lot of couples have that dynamic where they will say sometimes very hurtful things and then the other partner tosses a zinger back and they act like its funny, but it really isn't. I don't think its funny or healthy. But some people just think that is the way to be.

There are plenty of Women out there with imbecilic ideals of what should be. But there is also the possibility she is doing it as a way of saying that she understands what he is going through. But its o. k to say to her that you can't understand why she is sympathizing with you for being ill, but don't understand why she is complaining about your appreciation for understanding.

Because, and this is just me maybe, the man doesn't reciprocate to the same degree.

My partner got sick, I went to get him fresh orange juice, made him his favourite breakfast in bed, kept him hydrated and tucked in.

I got sick and he didn't even want to walk to the damn cornerstore for fear of "getting lost".

I'll go out of my way to care for my sick man. All I request is the same treatment when I get sick.

Oh, man... I've had this complaint for like 20 years! Believe me... On the list of complaints you COULD have, this should not be worth the bother. In fact, if I can do anything for you, try to understand where the coddling comes from—just talk to her. Just try to understand her and let it flow!

Ask her what she wants for dinner? She'll complain you don't know her well enough

Just take her someplace for dinner? Even if it's a place she likes she'll feel slighted you didn't ask for her opinion

My ex was getting pretty pissed about me resetting my own busted ribs, Gun grazes, and deep lacerations. Just patched them up and walked it off like it was nothing. Had a couple nasty infections and passed out like 5 times in public, but hey, who hasn't.

Those are some weird females. If she coddles you and then she complains about you being like needing to be babied or whatever, leave such a weird female. She's sabotaging her own relationship. Make room for a woman, that will care for you for real because she really loves you. Such women will be protective over you.
